- Day 1
Bangkok to Phitsanulok
You'll start early at 6:45 am heading north from Bangkok toward the Bang Pa-In Summer Palace, a grand royal residence worth seeing. From there, you'll spend time at several key temples in Ayutthaya like Wat Yai Chaimongkhon, Wat Mahathat, and Wat Phanan Choeng to get a feel for the ancient capital. After grabbing lunch in Chai Nat, you'll continue on to Phitsanulok for a quick orientation of the city before settling into your hotel for the evening.

Phitsanulok to Lampang
Following breakfast, you'll join locals at Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat for morning prayers and making offerings. Then it's on to Sukhothai, where you'll check out the UNESCO-listed Historical Park with its temple ruins and Buddha statues scattered throughout. Next you'll head to Si Satchanalai and cross a wooden suspension bridge to reach the temple ruins there. By evening you'll arrive in Lampang to rest up for the next day.

Lampang to Chiang Rai
After breakfast you'll visit the ornate Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, then drive north with a coffee break at Phayao Lake. You'll see the all-white Wat Rong Khun temple with its mirror-embedded exterior, followed by lunch in Chiang Rai. Later, you'll reach the Golden Triangle where Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet, then take roughly 45 minutes on a boat with a stop at Don Sao Island. Before evening, you'll explore the 212 House of Opium museum.

Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai
The day begins at the fragrant Chiang Rai morning market, then you'll visit Wat Phra Kaew temple. After that, you'll head to the Hill Tribe Museum and Education Centre to learn about local mountain peoples and their cultures. Lunch happens in Tha Ton before traveling to Chiang Mai, where you'll go up to the sacred Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. You can either climb the 309-step naga staircase or take the cable car to reach this temple perched high with panoramic city views.

You'll head to Elephant Jungle Sanctuary after breakfast for an ethical elephant experience focused on care and observation in a natural setting. Then you'll visit Royal Park Rajapruek, a 200-acre botanical and cultural park with landscaped gardens and diverse plants. Following lunch at a local restaurant, the afternoon takes you to Baan Tipmanee traditional woodworking shop where you can watch artisans hand-carving wooden products using generations-old techniques.
