Tokyo
Start at Senso-ji Temple, Tokyo's oldest Buddhist temple with nearly 1400 years of history. From there, head to the Asakusa Street Food guided tour to try local dishes like takoyaki and monjayaki. Later, you'll make your way to the famous Shibuya Crossing, one of the world's busiest pedestrian intersections, then stop by the iconic Hachiko statue.

Oshino - Mount Fuji
Travel to West Lake Village to see its distinctive thick-thatched roof cottages with Mount Fuji views in the distance. Visit Oshino Hakkai to walk around eight crystal-clear springs fed by lava layers. After that, check out the Narusawa Hyoketsu Ice Cave, formed over 1150 years ago. End the day at Arakurayama Sengen Park for panoramic views of Mount Fuji and the surrounding area.

Board the scenic Hakone Pirate Ship on Lake Ashino for views of Mount Fuji. Then ride the Hakone Ropeway to Owakudani, a volcanic site where you'll see white smoke vents and smell sulfur. There, you can purchase black eggs, which according to local legend, add seven years to your life.

Visit the Sannai Maruyama Site, an archaeological location from Japan's Neolithic Jomon period with reconstructed pit buildings and ancient artifacts. Then tour the Towada Art Center, which features modern art installations from international artists. Later, head to Inakadate to see its creative rice paddy art displays.

Aomori to Morioka

Morioka to Sendai
Visit Chuson-ji, a UNESCO World Heritage Site established in 850 by the Fujiwara clan. See the Konjiki-do (Golden Hall) decorated with gold leaf. Tour the Hiraizumi Cultural Heritage Center to learn about the town's history. Later, head to Matsushima Bay with its 260 pine-covered islands, considered one of Japan's Three Most Scenic Spots. Take a bay cruise and visit Zuigan-ji Temple, then finish in the Kokubuncho entertainment district for the evening.

Sendai

Then visit Aoba Castle, an impressive 1600 monument 100 meters above town, which has Date Masamune's equestrian statue and panoramic city views. After lunch, head to Nikka Whisky Distillery for a guided tour, taste various whiskies, and browse the gift shop.
