Our driver and guide were professional and great to chat with! They made the whole trip even more fun. This trip was truly unforgettable. This beautiful and magical land completely enchants me. If I could, I’d come back to Tibet!Show moreTrip date: April 2025
- Tez· March 14th, 2025My trip to Tibet was absolutely amazing! My tour guide and driver were awesome—super friendly and knew all the best spots for killer photos. They snapped so many great shots for me, and I couldn’t be happier. My guide, Lhadron, had this way of describing the sights with such cool, vivid details that made everything even more fascinating. And the scenery? Tibet is stunning—like, jaw-droppingly beautiful! Seriously, this trip was perfect in every waShow moreTrip date: January 2025
- Ddmitri712· November 8th, 2019I have arrived home safe and sound and wanted to let you know that we had a FANTASTIC time in Tibet, even though one of the ladies got ill. Darhyge was amazing, so knowledgeable, thoughtful and caring.I would definitely recommend him as a guide to anyone traveling to Tibet. Thank you for arranging this holiday for me, I really enjoyed visiting Potala Palace, Yamdrok Lake and learning about the different people and places that make up this huge country that I live in. Thank-you also for your kind gift on my birthday, it was really thoughtful. Have a wonderful day.Show moreTrip date: October 2019
- Bbessie· November 7th, 2019a 6-day/5-night Lhasa Shigatse group tour with Great Tibet Tour in September 2019. There are three times group airport pickup and drop off included. It is about a 1-hour journey from the airport to the central city. I stayed at the Shangbala Hotel in Lhasa. Most of the clients in the Shangbala Hotel were foreign. I enjoyed breakfast at the Shangbala Hotel. Every morning, my guide will meet us at the hotel hall around 9:30 am. So I can enjoy a good sleep. The tour guide and driver were both Tibetan. They will talk about Tibetan history and their lifestyle with us. I felt relaxed during my trip. I will recommend this Tour to my friends and family who would like to travel to Tibet.Show moreTrip date: September 2019

Traveler•Written July 2024What are the best months to Lhasa to get the best from the scenary (temperature not more than 25 deg C). Do you accept solo traveller without single supplement in this tour?
- Great Tibet TourOperator•Written July 2024
May to June and September to October are good months to visit Tibet. We can accept solo travellers with a single supplement.
- Great Tibet TourOperator•Written July 2024
Our quote is based on twin rooms. For single travelers, single supplement is required at the time of booking. We will try to find another traveler to share the twin room with you, you can not pay the single supplement at first. But if we fail to find the tourist, you need to pay it later.

Traveler•Written July 2024Is this group confirm departure? On single travel, meaning for now I booked based on USD825? and if there is no other tourist, I will need to pay USD98 (difference between 923-825=USD98)? I am a Malaysian, do Malaysians require any documentation to enter Lhasa?
- Great Tibet TourOperator•Written August 2024
25 April 2025 is not confirmed now but we can open this group departure and wait for other tourists to join. The group is open based on 3 pax. You don't need a China Visa to stay in China within 15 days. We need the scan of your passport to apply for the Tibet Travel Permit.

Bianca

Asked on April 10th, 2024Is this tour guaranteed to take place? If not, what about on 17th May? If the tour is cancelled, would those who book get a refund? What is the cost of the single supplement and any hotel upgrades? How many days ahead is needed to organise the visa for China and any permit for Tibet? What are the covid and other vaccination requirements for China?
- Great Tibet TourOperator•Written April 2024
Yes, this 6D Lhasa Gyantse Shigatse Group Tour will take place on 13 May. If the tour is canceled, those who booked will get a refund. In general, we would not cancel a confirmed tour unless any uncontrolled situation happens such as a pandemic, war, earthquake, etc. If you place a booking on the TourRadar, a single supplement will be added, around USD125 based on 3-star and USD185 based on 4-star, which is the amount we usually charge. May I know your nationality? Visitors from some European countries don't need a China visa at present. If you apply for a China visa now, it takes 2 to 4 weeks to get one, a little bit late for this trip. No such requirements now.

Traveler•Written April 2024Do I need a visa for China and Tibet? Does your agency assist with getting a Tibet permit?
- Great Tibet TourOperator•Written April 2024
Yes, you need a China visa and we can help you apply for your China visa by providing supporting documents (invitation letter and tour itinerary) after you book with us. After you get your China visa, we can use your China visa and passport copies to apply for your Tibet travel permit. During your China visa application, they may ask for your flight booking to and from China.

Traveler•Written April 20241. Please confirm that its tour provider is Tibet Vista. 2. Is this 3-star only or is 4-star upgrade feasible? 3. Please quote for both 3-star and 4-star with single occupancy in AUD. 4. I have Swedish and Australian passports - is either one visa-exempt? 5. I reside permanently in Australia and does that affect the visa needed. 6. If a visa is required, do you provide invitation letter and itinerary? 7. Is your advice not to mention Tibet plans in the visa application?
- Great Tibet TourOperator•Written April 2024
1. We are Great Tibet Tour, not Tibet Vista. 2. Yes. But you'd better make the decision before check-in, after checking the room. 3. 3-star and 4-star single occupancy is included in the price for solo travelers. 4. I'm afraid neither of the passports can enjoy a visa-free policy currently. 5. No. You just need a China visa. 6. Yes, but it's a little bit late for the Tibet tour in May. Maybe a tour in June is more feasible, as China visa application takes more than 2 weeks to one month. 7. No. Please do not mention Tibet during your China visa application.
- L
Leanne
Traveler•Written April 2024How does one apply for a visa without mention of Tibet? The Chinese visa application asks for the itinerary including flights and hotels. Do you assist with an alternative itinerary for the same week for the purpose of visa application? As to the Tibet permit, how does a tourist receive it at a China address if one is flying in from abroad and only transiting at a major airport?
- Great Tibet TourOperator•Written April 2024
For China visa applications, we can provide hotel names in the tourist itinerary. And for the flights, you can provide flights to & from a China city. Yes, we will assist with an alternative itinerary for the same week of your stay in Tibet. For the Tibet permit, if you only transit at the airport, we will ask a local agent to deliver the permit to you in person, but extra manpower will get involved in and extra fee will be produced. Which city are you going to flying to Lhasa?
