Guides were very friendly and flexibe to accomodate individual wishes (special food, visits outside the programme etc); the large majority also had a very good background on local culture and history. Transportation was always ok, food was always good and accomodations as well. Silk Road TripsOperator•Written July 2024Below is the proposed itinerary. Northern Xinjiang like Kanas and Hemu area is getting cold in October and I did not include it in the itinerary. Itinerary includes stops at Xi'an, Lanzhou, Labrang, Xining, Zhangye, Jiayuguan, Dunhuang, Turpan, Urumqi, Kuqa, Akesu, Kashgar, and Tashkurgan with visits to various historical and cultural sites.
