Itinerary
- Day 1
Fes
You'll arrive in Casablanca and head straight to the Hassan II Mosque, where you can see the intricate marble work and cedar ceilings with views out over the Atlantic. After taking that in, you'll drive to Fes and stop at the Merenid Tombs for a look at the medieval medina spread out below. Once you settle into your traditional riad, dinner happens there for the evening.

Fes
A guide takes you through Fes's old medinas, walking you through 1000 years of history in the process. You'll go into Fes el Bali, check out the Chouara Tannery where they do the traditional dyeing work, look at the detailed tilework inside Al Attarine Madrasa, and wander the old Jewish quarter. Before wrapping up, you'll see the French colonial buildings in Ville Nouvelle.

Rabat
The morning starts at a local Ceramics and Tilework Collective where artisans work on intricate mosaics and you can watch them. You'll then drive west to Rabat and explore the Chellah Necropolis with its Roman and Islamic ruins, then walk through the white and blue streets of Kasbah des Oudaias. The Andalusian Gardens offer a quieter moment before you see Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohamed V.

Marrakech
You'll travel to Marrakech and get your bearings around Jemaa el-Fna Square. A caleche (horse-drawn carriage) takes you through the medina where you can visit the Koutoubia Mosque gardens and check out the medieval fondouks. As it gets dark, the square itself comes alive with musicians, storytellers, acrobats, and food stalls that you can explore on foot.

This is your last day, so it's a good time to think back on everything you've seen across the imperial cities before you leave for home.
