Buenos Aires
You'll land in Buenos Aires and have the evening to settle in. Walk through neighborhoods to check out Teatro Colón, Casa Rosada, and the National Museum of Fine Arts. If you're interested, catch a tango show or head to a steakhouse for some Argentinian beef. La Boca's colorful street museum is worth a look too, especially if you arrived early enough to explore more.

Buenos Aires to Ushuaia
Head to the airport early for your flight to Ushuaia, sitting at the southernmost tip of the world. Once you arrive, you'll get a brief tour of town before boarding MS Roald Amundsen. Pick up your expedition jacket and meet the Expedition Team, then explore the ship. Dinner happens on board that evening.

Beagle Channel and Cape Horn
The ship sails through the Beagle Channel toward Cape Horn, where the Atlantic and Pacific meet. You'll see rocky walls dropping into icy waters and watch for Peale's dolphins and other wildlife. Weather permitting, you might land at this historic seafaring location and actually set foot there.

Puerto Williams
Puerto Williams is your next stop, another place claiming the title of world's southernmost city. The Martin Gusinde Anthropological Museum has Indigenous Yaghan artifacts and tells the story of local culture. You can hike through the landscape on your own or with a guide, and if conditions allow, kayak around. Albatrosses and other seabirds frequent the area.

Garibaldi Fjord and Chilean Glaciers
Sailing through Garibaldi Fjord in Alberto de Agostini National Park lets you see massive glaciers. Depending on conditions, you'll head toward Garibaldi or Pia glacier to watch ice calving into the water. The UNESCO Biosphere Reserve here supports seals, sea lions, and seabirds like the Andean Condor.

Magellan Strait
Moving north along the Chilean coast through the Magellan Strait, you'll attend lectures from the Expedition Team covering pre-Columbian history, geology, and local folklore. The surrounding fjords, islands, glaciers, and mountains create incredible scenery. Look out for elephant seals, dolphins, and whales. The ship's photographer offers tips on capturing these moments.

Puerto Natales and Torres del Paine
You arrive at Puerto Natales, the gateway to Torres del Paine National Park. Either take a panoramic bus tour or a hiking tour to explore the rugged landscape with its steppe, forest, desert, glaciers, and lakes. Spot guanacos, rheas, pumas, Chilean Flamingos, and Andean Condors. In town, find eateries, bars, outdoor shops, and the artisan village at Etherh Aike. Last Hope Distillery offers a gin tour if you're interested.

White Narrows to Puerto Edén
Early morning brings you to the White Narrows, a narrow waterway less than 330 feet wide that's only passable during slack water conditions. After passing through, you'll continue into the Chilean fjords heading toward Puerto Edén with panoramic views. Head on deck to see Patagonian landscapes as the captain navigates, or attend a Science Center lecture instead.

Puerto Edén
Puerto Edén sits at the end of a deep fjord in Bernardo O'Higgins National Park and you can only reach it by sea, since a ferry visits just once a month. Walk the wooden boardwalks connecting the houses and shops. You'll meet some of the last remaining Kawésqar people and learn about their culture. UNESCO designated this unique community a Living Human Treasure.

Caleta Tortel
Caleta Tortel sits at the mouth of Rio Baker, Chile's largest river, with just 500 inhabitants. Instead of streets, the village has a maze of boardwalks spreading over water and around the mountain. If conditions allow, kayak through the milky blue waters. Local handicrafts are available, and folk dancers perform for visitors.

Patagonian Waters
As you continue sailing north through Patagonian waters, the seascapes shift through shades of blue from aquamarine to midnight. Watch for whales, seabirds, and seals passing by. Relax in the panoramic sauna, hot tubs, or infinity pool when you're not eating or hanging out in the Explorer Lounge. The Expedition Team holds lectures on local history and wildlife, plus photography guidance.

Castro, Chiloé Island
Castro on Chiloé Island is Chile's third oldest city, and you'll see the colorful palafitos or stilt houses along the waterfront. Two UNESCO World Heritage churches are here: Iglesia San Francisco and Iglesia de Señora de Gracia de Nercón. The Museo Regional de Castro Museum and Modern Art Museum give insight into local culture. Castro's central location on the island makes it easy to reach other spots.

Niebla and Valdivia
The seaside town of Niebla sits on a peninsula overlooking Corral Bay and the Valdivia River. You can walk on the wide sandy beach and, if the Feria Costumbrista market is operating, try traditional empanadas, anticuchos, and churros. The old Spanish fort ruins and its museum show the region's history. From the lighthouse, you get nice views. After that, visit Valdivia, one of Chile's oldest Spanish-era settlements.

At Sea to Valparaíso
Your voyage continues along the Pacific coast toward Valpraíso. As the journey winds down, you'll reflect on what you've experienced and the friendships you've made. The Expedition Team recaps your shared Patagonian experiences. Use the onboard facilities like hot tubs, the infinity pool, sauna, and gyms. The final evening meal is special.

Valparaíso
The expedition ends in Valpraíso, known as the Jewel of the Pacific and a UNESCO-listed city built on steep hillsides overlooking the water. Explore the winding alleyways and colorful houses in different barrios, or check out mercados full of local produce. Ride the funicular up to Cerro Alegre and Concepción for views out over the ocean. If you want more adventure, you can sign up for an optional Post-Programme.
