- Day 1
Quito
You'll arrive in Quito at whatever time works for you. Your G Adventures representative will be waiting at the hotel to meet the group and go over what's coming up on the tour. After that, you have the rest of the day to walk around the city and get a feel for it on your own terms.

Quito to Galápagos Islands
An early morning flight takes you out to the Gal‡pagos Islands. Once you land, head directly to Bachas Beach where you'll see Sally Lightfoot crabs hanging around the rocks, flamingos in the shallows, and marine iguanas sunbathing on the sand.

Galápagos Islands
This morning starts at Darwin Bay where several trails give you chances to spot a wide range of birds. Later in the day, you'll head over to El Barranco to check out different booby species, particularly the red-footed variety which are pretty distinctive with their coloring.

Galápagos Islands
A guided tour of Bartolomé Island shows off its rough volcanic landscape and geological features. From there, you'll go to Sullivan Bay on Santiago Island to see the contrast between massive lava flows and the white coral sand beach.

Galápagos Islands
The day starts early with a landing in Puerto Villamil, then you hike up to Sierra Negra Volcano, which happens to have the largest basaltic caldera in the Gal‡pagos. In the afternoon, you'll visit the tortoise breeding centre in the Puerto Villamil area to learn about their conservation efforts.

Galápagos Islands
Morning at Elizabeth Bay gives you time to spot birds and marine life from the water and shoreline. You'll take a panga through the shallows and mangroves looking for sea turtles and penguins. After lunch, Urbina Bay at the base of Alcedo Volcano is where you hike to find wild land tortoises and watch for land iguanas on the rocks.

Galápagos Islands
At Tagus Cove, a hike leads to a lookout with great views across the bay, and you can spot old graffiti carved into the cliffs from whalers and pirates centuries ago. Later, you'll head to Punta Espinoza on Fernandina Island, the youngest in the Gal‡pagos, where you'll see a large group of marine iguanas and various birds.

Galápagos Islands
The morning brings a panga ride through Buccaneer Cove to watch sea lions, shorebirds, and interesting rock formations. After lunch, you head to Rábida with its red sand beaches, a lagoon, and a sea lion colony nearby. You'll have time to snorkel in the afternoon with tropical fish and sea lions swimming around you.

Galápagos Islands to Quito
You'll view Daphne Island from the boat, a small cone-shaped island where blue-footed boobies nest along with frigatebirds and Darwin's finches. Then it's a flight back to Quito where you can spend the evening exploring the city again before heading out.

You depart Quito at whatever time your flight is scheduled. The tour ends here and you head home.
