You'll be picked up at Santiago airport and driven to your hotel. On a private city tour, you'll see both the old colonial neighborhoods and the newer parts of Santiago, getting a feel for how the city blends its past with contemporary development.

Santiago to San Pedro de Atacama
After flying north to Calama, you'll travel through the desert landscape to reach San Pedro de Atacama. A walking tour helps orient you to the town, and then in the evening you'll head out to Valle de la Luna where the terrain shifts into incredible salt formations and colored rock layers that look otherworldly.

San Pedro de Atacama
This morning takes you to Pukarú de Quitor, a 12th-century fortress built by the Atacameño people that later became an Inca site. The afternoon shifts to Salar de Atacama salt lake where you can watch flamingos and other birds at Laguna Chaxa, one of the lake's lagoons.

San Pedro de Atacama
You'll start before sunrise to catch the Tatio geysers when they're most active, with the morning sun heating the water and sending jets up to 10 meters into the air. After watching this, you'll relax in the natural warm pools nearby and head back to San Pedro by lunchtime.

San Pedro de Atacama to Puerto Varas
Head to Calama airport for flights that go through Santiago and then south to Puerto Montt. You'll do an orientation tour of the city, visit the Angeló fish and handicraft market, and then drive to Puerto Varas, which sits on Llanquihue Lake with views of snow-capped volcanoes.

Torres del Paine National Park
