Itinerary
- Day 1
Flight to Bangkok
Your flight departs Frankfurt heading to Bangkok. This is a long journey, so settle in for the flight and get some rest when you can. You'll arrive the following day due to the time difference.
- Day 2
Bangkok
After landing at Bangkok airport, you're picked up and driven to your hotel in the city. The rest of the day is yours to relax and adjust to the time zone. Later, you'll meet up with the group for an evening briefing about what's coming up. You'll stay at the hotel overnight.

Bangkok to Kanchanaburi
You drive out to Kanchanaburi to see the Bridge on the River Kwai, then board the Death Railway train to ride across the bridge heading north. Next, visit Hellfire Pass museum to learn about the difficult conditions prisoners faced during construction. By afternoon, a longtail boat takes you to your floating bamboo resort on the river for the night.

Kanchanaburi
Around 10 am you head to Erawan National Park for a forest hike to the multi-level waterfalls. You'll get to swim in the natural pools with jungle all around you, then return to the riverside resort before evening.

Kanchanaburi to Sukhothai
Early morning departure at 7:30 am for the long drive through rice fields toward Sukhothai. You'll stop at Don Chedi where a temple has thousands of active fruit bats. Depending on when you're traveling, there may be stops at various fields and plantations along the way. You arrive at your hotel near Old Sukhothai in the afternoon.

Sukhothai
Today you explore Sukhothai, meaning 'dawn of happiness,' the 13th-century first capital of Siam. Cycling through the UNESCO Historical Park on easy trails, you'll see around 200 well-kept chedis and temples including Wat Mahathat, Wat Sri Chum, Wat Sri Sawai, Wat Sra Sri, Wat Trapang Ngoen, and visit the Ramkamhaeng Museum.

Sukhothai to Mae Sot
Leaving Sukhothai for Mae Sot, you stop at Taksin Maharat National Park for a challenging jungle hike with steep sections and stream crossings. You'll see one of Thailand's largest trees, over 50 meters tall and 16 meters around. In the afternoon, you reach Mae Sot on the Thai-Burmese border. You check out the Burmese market along the Moei River and visit Wat Thai Watharam temple.

Mae Sot to Karen Mountain Village
Open pickup trucks take you on rough roads to a Karen village homestay near Myanmar. You stay with local families and experience their daily life in the cloud forests. Depending on the season, visit rice fields or coffee plantations, watch traditional fabric weaving, try basket weaving with bamboo, and spend the day with mahouts working with elephants in the jungle. That evening, you visit a nearby temple with great views.

Karen Mountain Village to Lampang
After saying goodbye to the village, you head toward Lampang. You stop at Wat Phra Borommathat temple to see an important Burmese Buddha statue, then visit the King Bhumibol Dam. Arriving in Lampang, the rest of your day is free to relax or wander around.

Lampang
You drive to Wat Chaloem Phra Kiat, also called Little Bhutan, a temple built on pointed rock peaks with great views. The hike up 500 steps takes about 30 minutes to reach the top where you might meet local monks. Back in Lampang, you tour the old town visiting Wat Koh Walugaram and Wat Phra Keio Doi Tao temples, then stroll through the night market.

Lampang to Si Lanna National Park
You stop at Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, a large Lanna-style temple, then drive north past Chiang Mai to Si Lanna National Park. Check into the Tree House Resort and do an afternoon hike to two small caves through the jungle. You'll stay in separate bungalows and tree houses by a stream.

Si Lanna National Park to Chiang Mai
Drive about 20 km to Buathong Waterfall for swimming and a short hike, with crystal-clear water and white limestone rocks around you. Then continue to Chiang Mai for a 3-hour cycling tour through the outskirts past rice fields, fruit plantations, and the Wiang Kum Kam excavation sites.

Chiang Mai
You drive to a waterfall and hike roughly 40 minutes to reach it for a swim and rest. After another 2 hours of climbing, you get to Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep at 1073 meters elevation. Climb 306 steps to the sanctuary where you see the golden pagoda with a Buddha relic and panoramic views over Chiang Mai. Back at the hotel in the afternoon, there's a farewell dinner where everyone talks about the trip.

Chiang Mai to Germany
This day is yours to do as you please until it's time to leave. You're transferred to Chiang Mai airport and travel home through Bangkok. If you want, there's an option to stay longer and add beach time in southern Thailand instead.
