Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival at Easter Island
You'll land at Mataveri International Airport and get picked up for the short drive to your hotel in Hanga Roa, about 15-20 minutes from the terminal. That evening, either walk or grab a taxi over to Ahu Tahai to catch the sunset over the Pacific. This ceremonial site has some of the island's most iconic moai statues, so it's a solid introduction to what you'll be seeing throughout your stay.

Southern Coast & Anakena Beach
Your day starts at Ahu Vaihu ceremonial site, then you head to Tongariki to see 15 moais still standing together, which is the largest collection on the island. From there, it's on to Rano Raraku quarry where about 900 statues were carved before transport. You'll also stop at Ahu Te Pito Kura, known as the Navel of the World. After lunch, there's an hour to relax on the white sand at Anakena Beach before heading back to your hotel.

Rano Kau Volcano & Orongo Ceremony Village
The drive takes you up to Rano Kau, an extinct volcano with views across the island and a crater lake. Next, visit Orongo ceremonial village, where people once held the ancient birdman competition. There are petroglyphs here and great views out to three islets: Motu Nui, Motu Iti, and Motu Kao Kao. Once you've finished exploring, you'll head back to the hotel.

Free Day at Anakena Beach
Spend this day relaxing at Anakena Beach, the island's most extensive natural beach. The sand typically appears white but can take on a pinkish tone depending on how the sun hits it. The beach has bathrooms, restaurants, and a picnic area, making it a great spot for the whole family to just unwind and enjoy some downtime.

Horseback Tour & Boat Adventure
Start your morning on a horseback tour through the volcanic cave network, visiting Ana Kakenga with its window-shaped formations, Ana te Pahu known as the Cave of Bananas, Akivi Ahu representing the Seven Explorers, and Maunga Roiho. You'll break for lunch, then in the afternoon, head out on a boat tour from Hanga Roa cove to explore Mataveri caverns, the cliffs around Rano Kao volcano, and Los Motus islets. Snorkeling is an option if you want to get in the water around Motu Nui bay.

Akivi & Tahai Sites & Kari Kari Cultural Ballet
After breakfast, check out Tahai ceremonial site which has 3 platforms, including the only moai on the island with eyes still intact, plus boat house remains and an old stone wharf. Then move on to Ahu Akivi with 7 restored moais said to represent the first explorers sent by King Hotu Matua. Visit Puna Pau quarry where the moai hats were created. Later in the afternoon after lunch, you'll catch a performance by Kari Kari Cultural Ballet, Rapa Nui's oldest dance group, featuring traditional dances like Hoko, Kai-Kai, Sau Sau, and Riu Uté with live music, ending with a traditional dinner.
