Itinerary
- Day 1
Lima
You'll arrive in Lima and head to your hotel to settle in. The guided walking tour of Miraflores kicks off at 2 PM, giving you time to freshen up first. From there, you'll head to the Larco Museum in Pueblo Libre to walk through 5000 years of Peruvian history and artifacts. Later in the afternoon, you'll wander through Barranco's colonial streets and check out the neighborhood's lively atmosphere. For dinner, you can stay in Barranco for the nightlife scene or head back to Miraflores, depending on your mood.

Lima
This is a full day diving into Lima's cultural heart. You'll start with a guided city tour through the historic center, walking past Plaza de Armas, the Government Palace, Lima Cathedral, and Plaza San Martín. After that, you'll join a street food tour tasting 13 different local foods and drinks, so you'll get a real sense of Lima's food culture. Later, you'll head off the usual tourist paths to check out Callao and La Punta, the historic port areas. The day wraps up at Parque de las Aguas where you'll catch the water fountain light show in the evening.

Lima to Paracas
You'll drive south from Lima toward Paracas, stopping at archaeological sites along the way. First up is Pachacamac Ruins, an ancient site from around 200 A.D. that sprawls across about 600 hectares, so there's plenty to see. Then you'll head to Moron Lake, a hidden desert oasis tucked in the dunes that most tourists miss. You can swim in it or just take in the landscape from the edge. By evening you'll roll into Paracas beach town with time to relax.

Paracas to Huacachina
Leaving Paracas, you'll drive toward Huacachina with a stop at a vineyard that makes Pisco and wine, giving you a chance to learn about local production. You'll grab lunch there and try different Peruvian dishes. After arriving at Huacachina, the desert oasis town, you'll catch the sunset from the top of the dunes. That evening brings sandboarding and a dune buggy ride through the desert leading to your campsite. You'll end the night with a barbecue dinner and sleep in a tent under the stars.

Huacachina to Nazca
Early morning takes you into the Ocucaje desert to explore Los Perdidos Canyon, a dramatic rift cutting through the middle of the desert landscape. Your guide will lead you around at a comfortable pace before lunch arrives in a box. Then you'll continue toward Nazca, stopping at an overlook where you can see the Nazca Lines from ground level. You'll arrive in Nazca in the late afternoon with the rest of the day free to rest and recover.

Nazca
The morning is yours to wander around Nazca, take it easy, or do optional activities if something interests you. In the afternoon, you'll join a guided tour of the Cahuachi Pyramids, a ceremonial site from the Nazca culture. After that, you'll visit a local family-run ceramic workshop to learn about how the Nazca people made advances in irrigation and created their distinctive pottery. That evening you'll head to the Nazca Planetarium where they explain the scientific side of the mysterious Nazca Lines.

Nazca to Lima
This is a long driving day back to Lima from Nazca, roughly 7 hours on the road. You'll stop in Chincha partway through, a town known for its Afro-Peruvian heritage and culture. You'll have lunch there and visit some historical sites in the area before continuing back to Lima.

Departure from Lima
Depending on when your flight leaves, you might have time for optional morning activities around Lima before heading to the airport. Some travelers connect directly to the 8-day Machu Picchu and Cusco tour if that's part of their plans, while others depart for home.
