Itinerary
- Day 1
Bangkok
You'll arrive in Bangkok and check into your accommodation. There's a welcome meeting at 6pm where you'll meet your local leader and other travelers. If you get there early, you can explore Chinatown by riverboat, walk around Khao San Road, or book a traditional Thai massage. After the meeting wraps up, head to dinner with the group at a nearby restaurant.

- Day 2
Bangkok to Kanchanaburi
Start the day with a river cruise down the Chao Phraya River to see the khlongs (canals). Then visit the Grand Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha, where you'll see intricate royal architecture. In the afternoon, travel south by private minibus to Kanchanaburi, about 2.5 hours away. This town is known for the iconic Bridge on the River Kwai.

- Day 3
Kanchanaburi
Head to Erawan Falls with their emerald green pools where you can swim. Later, check out the Hellfire Pass Memorial to learn about Allied POWs and Asian conscripts who died building the Thai-Burma Death Railway. After that, climb to a teak observation deck overlooking the 18-metre-deep pass cut through rock and see views toward Myanmar. Then board a historic train at Nam Tok station and ride along the original tracks over the wooden viaduct with river views. In the evening, try street vendors in town or grab a drink by the river.

Kanchanaburi to Ayutthaya
Travel by private minivan to Ayutthaya, the former capital of Siam. You'll explore the ruins in the Historical Park, including the 13th-century Wat Phra Mahathat with its rows of headless Buddha statues. Look for the famous Buddha head nestled in the roots of a Banyan tree, one of Thailand's most recognizable sights.

- Day 5
Ayutthaya to Sukhothai
Take a traditional songthaew to the train station and board a day train to Phitsanuloke. From there, a minivan takes you to Sukhothai, the historic capital of Siam. You'll settle into your resort and have time to relax, maybe swim in the onsite pool.

Sukhothai
Explore Old Sukhothai, a World Heritage Historic Park surrounded by lakes and gardens. You'll hop on bicycles for a leisurely tour of 21 historic sites with striking Buddha images and lotus-filled ponds. During your ride, there's a picnic lunch. The afternoon is free to do as you like. Later, join a Thai-style cooking class at a local house where you'll prepare traditional Sukhothai dishes like chilli pastes, curries, soups, fish cakes, and Thai custard. You'll finish by sharing a meal of what you've made.

Sukhothai to Hmong Hilltribe Lodge
Travel north by minivan to the Hmong Hilltribe Lodge in a peaceful valley surrounded by jungle and mountains. You'll settle into simple, rustic rooms and have a barbecue dinner in the open-air dining area. The evening includes a cultural performance by the Hmong people with a traditional wedding ceremony reenactment, shamanic ritual, and makong throwing.

Hmong Hilltribe Lodge to Chiang Mai
Transfer by private vehicle to Chiang Mai, northern Thailand's most vibrant city known as the 'Rose of the North'. In the late afternoon, drive up a mountain to Doi Suthep temple complex. Climb the 300-step naga-guarded stairway to reach the temples, where you'll hear monks chanting and get sweeping city views. Your leader can help arrange optional activities like bicycle tours, Thai massage, spa treatments, or pool time during free hours.

- Day 9
Chiang Mai
Visit the ChangChill elephant reserve to learn about elephant protection and conservation. You'll watch these jungle giants from a safe distance as they graze and socialize. Local guides give live talks about the elephants and the reserve's sustainable tourism practices. Grab refreshments near the elephant mud pit, then have lunch in a riverside sala pavilion alongside the elephants. On the way back, stop at Kaomai Estate 1955 cafe, a former tobacco factory that's now a UNESCO-accredited cafe, for coffee. Tonight, celebrate with a final group dinner in town.
