Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Hanoi

    You'll arrive in Hanoi and meet your guide at the airport with a welcome sign. From there, you're driven to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is yours to settle in and explore the city at your own pace, getting a feel for the energy and pace of Hanoi.

  2. Day 2

    Hanoi

    Meeting your guide at 8:00 AM, you'll start exploring Hanoi's key sites. First up is Tran Quoc Pagoda on Golden Fish Island, then you move through the Ho Chi Minh complex to see his mausoleum and the unique One Pillar Pagoda. After lunch, you'll check out the Vietnam Ethnology Museum (or Women Museum if the first is closed), then head to Temple of Literature and finish at Hoa Lo Prison Museum before heading back to your hotel.

  3. Day 3

    Halong Bay

    You travel from Hanoi to Ha Long Bay and board the Amanda Cruise. After settling in with refreshing drinks and checking into your cabin, the boat heads toward Trinh Nu Cave and lunch is served on board. Afternoon brings kayaking around limestone formations and exploring Trinh Nu beach. Back on ship, you'll participate in a sunset party, take a cooking class for Vietnamese steamed rice rolls, and enjoy a gala dinner. Later, you can opt for massage, herbal foot bath, or squid fishing.

  4. Day 4

    Halong Bay to Hue

    The morning starts with an optional Tai Chi class on the sundeck followed by light breakfast. You'll explore Sung Sot Cave and its unique rock formations, climbing steep stone steps. After returning to the boat, you can rest, get herbal foot baths, or sunbathe. Checkout is at 9:30 AM and then an early lunch buffet before reaching Tuan Chau Marina. From there, you transfer to Hanoi airport for your flight to Hue, arriving at your hotel by evening.

    Hue

    Your guide picks you up at 8:00 AM for a full day of Hue's imperial heritage. A dragon boat trip along the Huong River takes you to Thien Mu Pagoda, then you visit the Imperial Citadel and Dong Ba Market to see local life. After lunch, there's time for a relaxing herbal foot bath before exploring the Royal Tombs including Khai Dinh and Minh Mang. You'll also stop by traditional craft villages making conical hats and incense sticks before returning to your hotel.

    Hue to Hoi An

    Leaving Hue at 8:00 AM, you transfer to Hoi An with several photo stops along the way. You'll pass through Thanh Toan Village, stop at Lang Co Beach, drive over the scenic Hai Van Pass, and see Marble Mountain. These stops have no guide and entrance fees are at your own expense. You should arrive in Hoi An around 2:00 PM and check into your hotel.

    Ba Na Hills

    A cable car ride takes you up Ba Na Hills mountain through lush forest to reach Le Jardin and Linh Ung Pagoda with its 27-meter Buddha statue. You'll see the famous Golden Bridge and enjoy buffet lunch. Fantasy Park comes next, the third largest indoor amusement park in the world with some free games depending on park policy, and you can climb to the 1,487-meter peak of Chua Mountain. After crossing a suspension bridge, you head back to Hoi An.

    You'll pedal through green rice fields on a guided cycling tour, capturing countryside scenes along the way. At Cam Thanh's 7 Mau coconut water village, you explore by traditional basket boat and watch local artisans perform fishing nets and basket circus skills. There's a chance to learn making objects from coconut leaves and hear traditional songs. Moving to Tra Que vegetable village, you sample herbal water, learn about organic farming, and help with hoeing, planting, and harvesting. A herbal foot bath at a local house comes next, followed by fresh local specialties including spring rolls, papaya salad, banh xeo pancakes, morning glory, rice, and dessert.

  10. Day 10

    Ho Chi Minh City

    After breakfast, you explore Ho Chi Minh's colonial architecture starting with Notre Dame Cathedral and Saigon Post Office. Walking to the historic Reunification Palace, you'll see a witness to pivotal events of old Saigon. The War Remnants Museum comes next with its comprehensive collection of machinery, weapons, photographs, and war documentation. In the afternoon, you venture to the famous Cu Chi Tunnel system where you learn about underground life and crawl through 20, 30, or 50 meters of tunnels. Before returning to your hotel, you sample boiled tapioca and hot tea.

    You leave Ho Chi Minh City and travel to My Tho on the Mekong River. First stop is Vinh Trang Pagoda from the late 19th century, then you board a sampan to cruise around the four sacred islands: Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Tortoise. At Unicorn Island, you walk country lanes and see orchards while enjoying tropical fruits and folk music. A hand-rowed sampan ride through Thoi Son canal brings you past family businesses, a honey-bee farm with honey tea, and a coconut candy workshop. After lunch, you cycle around Tan Thach village to meet locals and experience daily Mekong Delta life, or relax in a hammock if cycling isn't for you.

  13. Day 13

    Angkor Complex

    Exploring Angkor's ancient wonders with your guide, you start at the Angkor Thom complex to discover the Bayon and the famous Ta Prohm Temple from Tomb Raider. Lunch happens at a local restaurant within the Angkor Complex at your own expense. You finish the day with visits to the massive Angkor Wat and a sunset view from Phnom Bakheng peak. Heading back to town after sunset around 6:30 PM gives you time to wind down.

    Your day starts exploring Pre Rup Temple, followed by the ornate pink-colored Banteay Srei Temple called The Citadel of Women. You'll stop for lunch at a neighboring eatery to enjoy classic Cambodian curries, soups, and stir-fries. The afternoon is spent exploring East Mebon, Ta Som, and Preah Khan Temples, each built for different reasons at various times. You can search for intricate details in the ancient walls. Around 4:00 PM, you relax in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle for the return to the city.

    Can internal flights be included in this package? Also we are a group of 8 plus 1 child (age 11) Would we be able to have one of the rooms with an extra bed so they can share with their parents?
