Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Windhoek

    Your driver meets you at Windhoek Airport and takes you to the Craft Center. If you land before 10 AM, there's light breakfast waiting for you. At 2 PM, you'll meet your German-speaking guide and head out toward the Kalahari for your first night on the road.

  2. Day 2

    Kalahari to Sesriem

    There's an optional sunrise drive through the red dunes if you're up for it. After that, you'll travel to Sesriem and stop at Solitaire, a quirky little desert village known for its apple cake. Your lodge sits right on the edge of the dune belt, so you can relax on the terrace, take in the views, and have dinner there.

  3. Day 3

    Sesriem

    Start early to catch the sunrise over the national park. You'll walk through Dead Vlei to see the 500-year-old acacia trees, climb the dune crests (the highest one reaches 350 meters), and have breakfast as a picnic down at the dune base. In the afternoon, Sesriem Canyon is next, carved by the Tsauchab River over two million years.

  4. Day 4

    Sesriem to Swakopmund

    The drive to Swakopmund takes you through the Namib desert, passing Kuiseb Canyon and Ghaub Pass along the way. Once there, your guide will show you around town, pointing out the Rhine Mission Church, Hohenzollern House, the old courthouse, and the landing pier with its restaurant. Then you're free to walk around and explore on your own.

  5. Day 5

    Swakopmund

    This day is yours to do as you like. There's a boat tour available in Walvis Bay where you can see seals and dolphins, plus enjoy fresh oysters and refreshments on board. Or try the Living Desert Tour to learn about desert wildlife like chameleons and geckos. A scenic flight over the Namib is another option. You can book any of these activities when you wake up.

  6. Day 6

    Swakopmund to Damaraland

    On the way to Damaraland, you'll stop at Spitzkoppe to see its unique rock formations, particularly the distinctive Rock Arch which is great for photographs. You'll reach your hotel in the late afternoon and have time to settle in.

  7. Day 7

    Damaraland to Etosha

    An easy walk takes you through the Twyfelfontein rock engravings. Then you'll check out the Organ Pipes, a set of interesting geological formations. Later, you'll head to your lodge on the edge of Etosha National Park, where the evening ends around a campfire.

  8. Day 8

    Etosha National Park

    You'll spend the day in an open safari vehicle exploring Etosha National Park. The landscape is open and gives you good sight lines for spotting elephants, antilopes, giraffes, and zebras. If luck is on your side, you might see lions and leopards at the waterholes. Your guide knows where to look and will share what they see along the way.

  9. Day 9

    Etosha to Grootfontein

    Today's drive takes you through Etosha's eastern section with frequent stops at waterholes and places where wildlife shows up. From there, you'll continue toward Grootfontein, near where some Khwe San people live. You'll stay in the Grootfontein region for the night.

  10. Day 10

    Grootfontein to Waterberg

    The Living Museum of the Khwe is a traditional village with grass huts where you can learn about San hunter-gatherer culture. You'll see traditional dances and get a feel for their ancestral traditions and pre-colonial ways of life. After that, you drive to Waterberg Plateau, a former battleground during the Herero uprising against German colonialism that's now a national park. You'll arrive at your lodge in late afternoon.

    Waterberg to Windhoek

    Start with an optional rhino tracking experience (if weather cooperates) to see these endangered animals up close. Then you'll drive back to Windhoek with a stop at a woodcarving market. Your guide will take you on an orientation drive through the capital before saying goodbye after your trip.

The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
