Itinerary
- Day 1
Pretoria to Hazyview
You'll leave Pretoria at 7am and travel through the scenic Mpumalanga landscape on an overland truck heading toward Kruger National Park. The drive takes you through some beautiful terrain before you arrive and settle into your accommodation. Later this evening, you'll watch traditional Shangaan tribal dancing and singing performances, which gives you a good introduction to the local culture before heading into the park tomorrow.

- Day 2
Kruger National Park
This is a full day safari experience in Kruger National Park using specialized 4x4 vehicles with a local guide who knows the park well. You'll be looking for the Big Five - lion, elephant, rhino, leopard, and buffalo - as you drive through different sections. There's a lunch break during the day to rest and refuel. If you're interested, the evening offers an optional night drive when leopards tend to be more active, which changes the experience quite a bit.

Kruger to Tshipise
You'll head north from Kruger through South African countryside to Tshipise in Limpopo province. Your accommodation sits next to a nature reserve with woodland surrounding it. You have free time here to relax by the pool, soak in a nearby hot spring, or visit one of South Africa's biggest baobab trees if you want to get out and see something specific.

Landmarks Tshipise Nature Reserve - Day 4
Tshipise to Matobo, Zimbabwe
Today involves crossing into Zimbabwe and heading toward Matobo. You'll stop in Bulawayo to grab supplies and handle any needed errands before reaching your campsite in the Matobo area later that day.

Landmarks Matobo National Park - Day 5
Matobo National Park
You'll do both a game drive and walking safari in Matobo National Park, which has Africa's largest rhino concentration and lots of leopards. The structured tour activities wrap up by lunchtime, so you have the rest of the day free. There's also an optional extension available if you want to see ancient Bushmen paintings in the Matobo Hills or visit Cecil Rhodes' grave.

Livingstone
This is a free day in Livingstone where you choose your own activities. Optional options include rafting, canoeing, abseiling, or scenic flights over Victoria Falls if those interest you. Otherwise, you can walk around Livingstone and explore the town at your own pace.

Livingstone to Chobe National Park, Botswana
You'll cross into Botswana and travel to Kasane, which serves as the gateway to Chobe National Park. In the afternoon, you'll take a Fish Eagle cruise on the Chobe River where hippos are common sightings and you might see elephants or buffalo coming down to drink and bathe. Keep watch for the rare African Fish Eagle if you can spot one.

- Day 9
Chobe to Nata, Botswana
A morning game drive takes you through Chobe National Park before you travel to the Nata region of Botswana. This area is sparsely populated and buffalo sightings are likely as you drive through. Your accommodation tonight is unfenced, which means local wildlife can move through freely - many groups report some of their best wildlife encounters happen right around the lodge here.

Nata to Maun
You'll travel to Maun, which serves as your base for exploring the Okavango Delta. If time permits today, there's an optional scenic flight over the delta available. If that doesn't work out, you'll have the chance to do it on day 12 instead.

Okavango Delta to Maun
You'll take another mokoro ride back out of the Okavango Delta and return to Maun. If the scenic flight wasn't possible on day 10, there's time for it now as an optional activity.

Landmarks Okavango Delta - Day 13
Maun to Omaheke Region, Namibia
You'll board the overland truck and travel to the Namibian border through Ghanzi, skirting the edge of the barren Kalahari Desert. After crossing into Namibia, you'll reach your chalets in the Omaheke Region near Gobabis. An included bush walk with local San Bushmen lets you learn about their ancient way of life and how they work with the land around them.

Landmarks Kalahari Desert - Day 14
Gobabis to Windhoek, Namibia
You'll arrive in Windhoek, Namibia's capital with around 470,000 people. The city has lots of German colonial architecture from its early colonial period. Your accommodation is positioned on the city edge, making it convenient to head into town for restaurants and exploring. Joe's Beerhouse is recommended as perhaps Namibia's most well-known restaurant if you want to eat somewhere notable.

Etosha National Park
You'll spend a full day on game drives across Etosha National Park, stopping whenever something catches your attention. Your tour leader will decide whether to return to the first camp or move to a different location depending on what wildlife you've seen and current conditions.

- Day 17
Etosha to Spitzkoppe
You'll leave Etosha and head into Damaraland toward Spitzkoppe, a mountain peak reaching 1,800 meters. You'll see incredibly well-preserved Bushmen paintings and spectacular rock formations. The rocks shift color as the sun moves across the sky, creating particularly beautiful views at sunrise and sunset. Your campsite is at the mountain's base where you can enjoy sunset with a refreshing drink.

Swakopmund
Another free day to explore Swakopmund further. You can soak in the relaxed atmosphere and German colonial architecture, try the various cafes, or participate in optional activities if something interests you. Otherwise, just relax in this coastal town.

Swakopmund to Solitaire Area
You'll continue south, crossing the Tropic of Capricorn with a photo opportunity along the way before reaching a desert campsite in Namibia's Khomas region.

Namib-Naukluft National Park
You'll head into Namib-Naukluft National Park to see Dune 45, a towering sand dune over 300 meters high that you can climb if you're up for it. Then you'll go to Deadvlei, a white clay pan surrounded by rolling golden dunes with eerie petrified trees scattered around. The landscape changes color as the sun moves. On the way to your accommodation, you'll stop at Sesriem Canyon.

Sesriem to Fish River Canyon
You'll take a long drive south through desert scenery to reach Fish River Canyon, which is second only to the Grand Canyon in size. It stretches more than 500 meters deep for 160 kilometers, making it an impressive sight. You'll stop at a couple of viewpoints and visit the canyon's famous sharp bend called 'Hell's Corner'.

Fish River Canyon to Orange River
You'll travel south to the Orange River, also known as the Gariep, which marks the border between Namibia and South Africa for much of its length. Your accommodation is on the Namibian side. There's an optional canoe safari available if you want to see the surrounding scenery from the water.

Orange River to Cederberg Region, South Africa
You'll cross into South Africa this morning, the seventh and final country of your tour. You'll drive south through the Namaqualand region, where beautiful wildflowers cover the landscape if you're traveling in spring (August-September). You'll arrive at a riverside lodge in the Cederberg region. Optional wine tasting is available if you want to sample some of Cederberg's wines.

Cederberg to Cape Town
You'll complete your journey to Cape Town, South Africa's 'Mother City', where your tour ends. The city is home to Table Mountain, the V&A Waterfront, and some of the world's most remarkable scenery. You'll probably want to extend your stay here to explore more of what Cape Town has to offer.
