Itinerary
- Day 1
Lima to Cusco to Sacred Valley to Aguas Calientes
Your early morning flight from Lima gets you to Cusco, and from there you'll head into the Sacred Valley. Depending on when you land, you might stop at Pisac Ruins to see the terraces and valley views, or check out Pisac Market if that works better timing-wise. You'll also walk through Ollantaytambo Fortress and the old Inca settlement there. After lunch with traditional Andean food, you'll board a scenic train that takes about 1.5 hours through the cloud forest down to Aguas Calientes, where you'll spend the night.

Machu Picchu
Start before dawn to catch the sunrise at Machu Picchu, which is really the best time to be there. You'll get a guided tour for about 2.5 to 3 hours walking around the sacred temples and palaces, taking in views of the Andean peaks. In the afternoon, head back on the train to Ollantaytambo (1.5 hours), then drive to your hotel in Cusco (another 2 hours).

Cusco to Lima
This morning you'll do a combined tour hitting Koricancha, which was the Temple of the Sun, along with Sacsayhuaman and Kenko, three key archaeological sites around Cusco. After you're done exploring, you'll transfer to the airport for your flight back to Lima.
