- SJSandra· October 6th, 2022The accomodation in Aguas Calientes and in Cusco were very basic. Especially, we did not like the hotel El Puma in Cusco, very bad location on a loud street, far from the center, cold rooms and extremly poor breakfast. We spent a few days in Cusco before the trip in a much better area. Additonally, we think value for money was very low. Very expensive trip for the service we have got, very basic program, this could have been organized very easily on our own - simply transfer and very very basic accomodation, and one lunch. Sacred Valley was just a pic from the street. We used G Adventures in other countries already and were happier in the past. We will not recommend this tour to anyone.Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewHi Sandra, Thank you for taking the time to send through your constructive feedback. What our customers ask about this tour
The content in our FAQ section is subject to change.- A
Amber
Asked on March 25th, 2025Are Machu Picchu tickets guaranteed on this tour? I can see the dates on sale that work for us, but everything I have read says that if tickets are not available on the official website, there's no other way to get them (other than queueing the day beforehand in Aguas Calientes). We would be able to start this tour on 20th, 21st, 22nd, or as an absolute backup, 23rd.
- G AdventuresOperator•Written March 2025
Machu Picchu tickets are included in the tour price. However if you would like to proceed with making a booking this tour is on request status. This means as soon as your booking is made we will send a request to our local team to make sure that everything can be confirmed for you, including the Machu Picchu tickets. The request process can take about 2 to 3 business days and if we cannot confirm all the services you will be refunded. If this tour is confirmed it means your tickets to Machu Picchu are guaranteed.

Traveler•Written January 2024Do we actually hike Machu Picchu?
- G AdventuresOperator•Written January 2024
With regards to you enquiry about the Machu Picchu by Train Independent Adventure, this adventure is one of our independent adventures, which means you will only have your Guide with you during the Sacred Valley on a guided tour and the next morning for a guided tour of the inspiring Machu Picchu ruins. It does not involve hiking such as with the Inca Trail ending in Machu Picchu. Please also note this independent tour means you could be travelling with other travellers that are not part of G Adventures. If you are looking for a more fully guided experience, we suggest looking the tour we offer such as: Explore Machu Picchu or Machu Picchu Adventure. We highly suggest to look at a more fully guided tour with us if you are concerned about safety. We have not had any issues on any of our tours in Peru and Ecuador, even with the situation from Ecuador beginning of January.
