Asked on October 7th, 2025Would love to do this tour, but wondering if possible to start later, say 28 Oct, or even 27 Oct. It will be near impossible to catch the 26 October date.

Traveler•Written October 2025Checking if possible to arrange for later date, say 28 Oct; and confirm that 26 Oct is spent in Puerto Natales, and as long as I arrive by 6 pm, I should be able to make the tour.
Intrepid TravelOperator•Written October 2025Unable to move the departure another date, as 26 October trip is the only departure we have for October. It would be okay to join the group on 27th, but we will have to double check from our local team. Note that you will miss the included activity on Day 01 - Full W Trek guided hike West to East, if you arrive on Day 02. There won't be any refunds if you miss day 02 of the tour.

Asked on September 30th, 2025Are we able to leave our big bags and just travel with day packs or do we need to carry the full bags?
Intrepid TravelOperator•Written September 2025Most travelers prefer to take a small to medium wheeled suitcase. On Patagonia trips it is best to take a backpack rather than a standard suitcase. You will need to carry your luggage on the trek (porter services is not included). We recommend you pack a 40 litre backpack and leave non-essential items in the hotel in Puerto Natales. Your fully packed trekking backpack should not exceed 12kg total weight. Excess luggage can be stored in our hotel. A porter service can be pre booked (subject to availability) at an extra cost to carry up to 15kg weight.

Asked on May 12th, 2025not fit enough
Intrepid TravelOperator•Written May 2025this trip comes with a physical rating of 4 out of 5, as it's a hiking-focused itinerary where a good level of fitness is essential. You'll need to be comfortable with hiking up to 8–9 hours a day, often on steep uphill sections, rocky and uneven terrain, and in unpredictable weather conditions.

Asked on January 29th, 2025Can you provide porter for the required 2-3 days? Can you guarantee refugios? we do not want to do any camping
Intrepid TravelOperator•Written January 2025We can arrange Porter Services for you at an additional cost of 515.00 USD to carry up to 15kg weight per person. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee accommodation in the Refugios every night, as there are occasions when we are unable to reserve one or more nights. In such cases, accommodations will be in tents provided and set up by the Refugios.

Traveler•Written January 2025Is that extra $515 per person? what if 2 persons share one porter- since I doubt that we will carry more than 7.5 kg each
Intrepid TravelOperator•Written January 2025The porter service fee is per person and we do not have the option for it to be shared.

Asked on November 26th, 2024Do we have to carry our luggage with us on the hike and is all the accommodation shared dormitory style? Are the walks mostly level or uphill?
- G
Gary
Traveler•Written November 2024Also what age group would you recommend this tour to be suitable for?
Intrepid TravelOperator•Written November 2024You will need to carry your luggage on the trek (porter services is not included), so please read a packing list and our recommendations carefully. Your fully packed trekking backpack should not exceed 12kg total weight. Excess luggage can be stored in our hotel in Puerto Natales for the duration of the trip. All overnight stays in Torres del Paine are booked in authentic refuges, with shared facilities and mixed gender dorm style rooms. You will be staying in dorm style accommodation on days 2, 3 & 4. Since this is a hiking trip, so it does require a good level of fitness, but no previous experience is needed. The longest day will see you hiking for 24 km with 1100 m of elevation gain. The physical rating for this trip is at 4 out of 5 = Be prepared for some serious physical activity. The fitter you are, the more you'll enjoy it, as most activities will be challenging.

Asked on August 21st, 2023Does someone carry our backpack from hut to hut? Or do we need to carry it ourselves? I am hoping to carry only a day pack. Is all food provided, or do we need to have that in our pack?
- J
Janice
Traveler•Written August 2023Regarding the refugios in Torres del Paine National Park, what is the room/bed situation? Do we need to carry sleeping bags and pillows? What is the temperature in the huts? Trying to see if really only a very small backpack with a few clothes, water, and snacks is mostly what is needed. Are the bathrooms inside the refugios? Is there full running water? Are the refugios lit, or do I need a Headlamp inside?
Intrepid TravelOperator•Written August 2023Refugios provide all bedding and meals, shared dorm rooms with shared facilities (bathrooms and shower blocks are separated by sex). Sleeping bags are not provided so please bring your own or hire locally for approximately $5 USD per person, per day. Bedsheets and pillows are provided in Refugio's, but blankets may not be available therefore sleeping bag is essential.

Traveler•Written August 2023So there is no option for a porter to carry a backpack?
Intrepid TravelOperator•Written August 2023You will need to carry your luggage on the trek as porter services are not included. Your fully packed trekking backpack should not exceed 12kg in total weight.
