Itinerary
- Day 1
Palermo
You'll arrive in Palermo and get settled into Sicily's capital, where the energy of the city hits you right away. Ancient monuments sit right alongside bustling markets filled with spice scents and local activity. After checking in, you'll meet your group for your first evening together and have a proper dinner featuring local Sicilian food.

- Day 2
Monreale - Selinunte
Start the morning with a walking tour through Palermo's streets, learning about the anti-Mafia movement and visiting the house of magistrate Paolo Borsellino with a local guide. From there, head to Monreale to see the Norman-Byzantine cathedral with its intricate mosaics covering the walls and ceilings. Later you'll travel to Selinunte, an ancient Magna Graecia archaeological site, where you'll stay in rustic rooms set among olive groves and participate in an olive oil tasting.

The architecture really stands out against the landscape. By evening, you'll reach Favara for a group dinner with seasonal regional dishes.

Piazza Armerina - Ragusa
Visit Villa Romana del Casale in Piazza Armerina to walk through a 4th-century palace decorated with intricate Roman mosaics showing tigers, horses, battles, and detailed artwork across the floors. Then continue to Ragusa, where you'll check in for two nights. The town sits on a hill and offers views of the surrounding architecture and the natural scents of citrus groves and jasmine.

- Day 5
Modica
This morning you'll attend a chocolate tasting session in Modica and learn about a local charity that teaches chocolate-making skills. After that, head to a buffalo farm to meet the animals and see how provola ragusana cheese gets made, followed by a buffalo mozzarella tasting with fresh vegetables and regional wines. The rest of the day is yours to wander Ragusa's winding alleyways and discover the town on your own.

Noto - Syracuse
Travel to Noto and walk through its streets to see the Baroque architecture and learn about almond cultivation that dates back centuries. You'll see the Baroque Cathedral of St. Nicholas and have lunch featuring an almond tasting with almond milk and local preparations. Later, head to Syracuse to explore the archaeological park and Teatro Greco, a 5th-century theatre, with a local guide who can explain the history. Dinner happens in the town center.

- Day 7
Syracuse
Spend your day exploring Syracuse, the chief Greek city of ancient Sicily that once competed with Athens. You'll have choices for how to spend the day: take a boat trip across the Ionian Sea to see hidden caves, watch a Sicilian puppet show, go down into the Jewish community's underground labyrinth, or simply walk through the winding streets at your pace. End the evening eating traditional Sicilian food like the locals do.

- Day 8
Mount Etna - Foothills of Etna
Leave Syracuse and head toward Mount Etna, stopping at Rifugio Sapienza to see extinct craters and the mountain's peak. You'll take a cable car ride to get closer to the volcano's landscape and experience the area. Then travel through old vineyards from the 18th century where you'll have lunch and do a wine tasting in a traditional cellar. By evening, you'll reach your hotel in the foothills with spa facilities where you can relax.

- Day 9
Taormina
Travel to Taormina, a town founded in 400 BC, and visit the ancient Greek theatre sitting on a hilltop with incredible views. The theatre once held gladiator fights and dramatic performances and still hosts concerts today. You'll have free time to walk down Corso Umberto, Taormina's main street, where you can find local restaurants, shops, and Sicilian snacks. Your farewell dinner happens at the hotel restaurant where you'll share stories about your journey.

Catania
Take a walking tour through Catania, the historic port city at Mount Etna's base shaped by Greek, Roman, Arab, and Byzantine influences over centuries. You'll see the famous fish market where Italian vendors work fast and fresh seafood sits on display. Visit a family-run pastry shop that's been around for 50 years, where you can fill your own cannoli and try granita, the classic Sicilian semi-frozen dessert, before your trip concludes.
