Suzanne· October 27th, 2025Through Tour Radar my friends and I booked a 10 day tour of Sicily from Palermo to Palermo - October 14-23. The tour was being run by Soleto Travel. Soleto promised us our tour documents two weeks before our trip. When we didn’t receive them, my friend called and got no answer at Soleto, so called Tour Radar and they promised to contact Soleto for us. They did and were promised that the docs would be sent the next day. That didn’t happen. My friend called Soleto 5 times with no results and called Tour Radar also who promised to help by calling Soleto. No results. I called Tour Radar twice three days before the tour and told them we thought the whole thing was a scam and we were afraid to go. They said they would bombard Soleto with calls and texts to get the docs sent. We finally got them two days before our tour! Never have we ever experienced such incompetence. During the tour unbeknownst to us, we were to have three different main guides and people would join our tour and people would leave. We had about 50 people in all and the guides were stressed. We were never told that we would be responsible for paying the entrance fees for each place and therefore we did not bring enough Euros. Those fees were always included in the cost of the tour. We were also unaware that we had to pay the taxes at each hotel. Those fees were also usually included in the tour price. We would have booked anyway, but being aware of that would have been useful! Lots of people joining our tour were unhappy as they were told it would be in a group of about 20 or 25 when it turned out to be 50ish at all times. I am assuming this was the fault of Tour Radar. Bottom line- the main guides we had were competent and hard working. I will, however, NEVER book anything from Soleto again and I am disappointed that Tour Radar didn’t research them before allowing this incompetence. Disappointed in Tour Radar also! Kitty· October 24th, 2025I've taken many tours to Europe, but by far this was the worst. There were many poor aspects and I'll try to explain them all. 1} It started with us having to make 5 phone calls to Tour Radar to push Omar to issue our documents. We were told they would be issued 2-3 weeks before and we finally received them the day before our departure. 2) We arrived in Palermo to find we were in a separate hotel than the rest of the group. Thus we were required to pull our own luggage down the street to our "other" hotel. 3) That's how it started... Next day we find out we are part of a 50 member group!! What reputable agency books 50 people with ONE tour guide? Not only that, but we then find out that we've been merged with members of another travel agency. Some started with us and left early...and others joined our tour midstream and stayed longer than us. The poor Tour Guide was constantly checking his lists to see who was suppose to be with us on any given day. Wasted lots of time doing this. 4) In Agregento four members of our group had to stay at a different hotel because there was no room at the BIG groups hotel. What a mixed up mess !!!! 5) On one occasion it was necessary for us to call Omar regarding our pick up to the airport, but as usual, he wouldn't answer the phone. 6) And lastly, we were never given the option to pay our entrance fees to the various events and were constantly being asked for EUROs. Some of the travelers had prepaid and others not. This was because there were different agencies mixed together. The Tour Guide didn't really know who did and who didn't. The problem many travelers had, including us, was because of this they hadn't brought enough EUROs and again the group would have to wait while we stood in line to use our credit cards. The tour info does not say "entrance fees not included". 7) Lastly, though the hotel rooms were "included" in our tour, the taxes were not. Now I ask you, why would you sell a tour that doesn't include both? Raise the cost to include everything, including entrance fees. Again, 50 people would have to go to the reception desk of each hotel and pay their taxes. Absolutely ridiculous!!! 8) We have always used Gate 1 in the past and everything was included and not always asking us for money. It was so organized and never more than 25-30 people in the group. Everyone at one hotel with signs in the lobby with all the information for the next day. They are a moderately priced tour as this was, but much more thoroughly run. The only reason we changed this time is because Gate 1 didn't have the itinerary that we wanted.Show moreTrip date: October 2025- GMGarth· October 21st, 2025Excellent organization. The tour leader and the local guides made the difference. Good food above our expectations. Superb assistance received from Soleto.Recommended.Show moreTrip date: October 2025
- AFAlexander· October 21st, 2025We liked the hotels and the itinerary. We did not like the amount of people on the buses. When traveling with other travel companies, we usually were getting much more information from tour directors. We liked the guide who took us to Segesta and Erice as well as other local guides.Show moreTrip date: September 2025
- CSChristine Anne· October 17th, 2025Tour covered all major sights but long lunches for up to 54 on coach often meant restricted time to explore. Too large!Show moreTrip date: October 2025
- BCBarbara· October 14th, 2025Our TourRadar booking included single supplement and airport transfers, but things didn't go as smoothly as expected. We shared a room the first two nights in Palermo and had to take a cab to the airport on our last day. TourRadar offered reimbursement, but the amount doesn't cover our costs. I must commend TourRadar for their efforts to address our concerns, but the process of resolving issues through their app while on tour proved to be frustrating and stressful. Sicily is an island that offers a wealth of experiences. While we packed a lot in, the days were long and hectic, leaving little time to explore. A more relaxed pace would have been welcome. All but one hotel stay was two nights with Catania being three. I appreciated the time to recharge. Our tour guide Placido, came across as quite formal and lacking in personality. Kristina was a breath of fresh air. So friendly, cheerful and helpful. The last day in Catania we merged with another group. Over 50 of us were packed into a bus with no legroom. In a nutshell ... the groups were too large; there were times of confusion; the hotels were decent and well-located; the included meals were delicious and the local guides were knowledgeable, although their talks could be a bit lengthy at times. Overall, it was a memorable trip, The final day was definitely the highlight, with only 11 of us cruising to Segesta and Erice in a spacious bus. Maria, our guide for the day was fantastic!Show moreTrip date: September 2025
- RKRuthann· October 11th, 2025I had paid for a single supplement room but was placed in a double room for 2 days as well paid for transport from the airport to the hotel and from hotel to the airport. We had to pay 60 euros for transport from the hotel to the airport in Palermo. The tour was very chaotic groups joining and it was not well organizedShow more

William· October 4th, 2025The New Tour of Sicily is an excellent tour of the island. It interacts with the Sicilian Secrets tour but has a break or day off from the tour midway through, and on the final day a trip to Segesta and especially Erice cap a great overall experience. A few of the days are a little long but overall the food, the hotels, and the quality of the tour guides (we had 3 different guides) make this an exception experience.Show moreTrip date: September 2025- VSVicki· August 16th, 2025Our guide Placibo from Palermo was most unsatisfactory. Totally unsuited to his role, he was arrogant, walked fast, talked fast and treated the group as school children. We were often left in the hot sun to listen when there was shade elsewhere. He was unpopular with the group as a whole, & it was a relief when Rita replaced him in Catania! The bus driver was good but th bus was old, many seatbelts non functioning & the windows unwashed. Apart from that I enjoyed my tour.Show moreTrip date: August 2025
- SEStuart· May 28th, 2025When we arrived in Sicily at hotel they didn’t have our reservations, after 15-20 inutes it got straightened out. On this tour we were never informed that we had to pay city taxes after each stay in every hotel in additition water and bevages were an additional charge at each dinner. On second day of tour at a lunch provided part of our group of 10 was sitting at a rear table at luncheon provided and was being served last, tour guide said to meet in front of restaurant at 2:30 when we all got their at 2:30 he and the group already left to complete that phase of tour. We all waited till 4:30 for them to return and we were drenched since it started rainingShow more

Asked on June 28th, 2025Can you accommodate a handycap with a folding motorized chair with restricted walking Also can you add 7 days to this trip to Malta
Soleto TravelOperator•Written June 2025Regarding this group tour in Sicily I have to check on Monday with my colleagues, as this is a group tour which involves several walks and sometimes it can be a problem for people with reduced mobility, while re Malta there are no problems at all, as we run the tour in Malta only in private way and we can certainly accommodate a guest using a folding motorised chair, it happened in the past.

Asked on April 26th, 2025Are the prices for the excursions/entry fees included in the total price of the trip? At what time do we have to be at the airport on the first day? Is the price for the transfer from the airport to the hotel included? What are the size of this group? Do you offer tours in French (or audio guides in French)? Is it possible to be three adults per rooms?
Soleto TravelOperator•Written April 2025The entry fees to the various Churches, Museums, Archaeological parks, are not included in the total price. But, can be purchased in advance, with an add on package including also the local city taxes. Otherwise, they can be paid in cash only on the spot ,through our tour leader. Yes, the transfer from the Airport to the Hotel is included in the total price. Being a private transfer, it is arranged according to the arrival times of the customers' flights, there is no fixed time. The size of the group is variable, around 35 -40 people during the high season months, such as May, September, October. While it is usually between 25 to 35 during the other months. No, the tour is carry out in English and in Spanish language. There is a monolingual group in English only and another group in Spanish . I can check re the audio guide, but I think for certain sites ( Like The Valley of the Temples) there should be audio guides in French too. Yes of course, it's possible and the tariff is even a bit lower than double room for 2 adults.

Asked on April 5th, 2025I don't see where I pay in advance for any optional tours (is the only optional tour the private transfer to Taormina on Day 5? - if so, how much and how do I book it?) and also I don't see in the itinerary what the total costs of entry tickets to the attractions listed in the itinerary are (if these are not included in the total tour price) -- could you please tell me what total costs of entry to all listed tour attractions will be, and if these can be paid in advance with a credit card, or if we need to bring cash to cover all those expenses?
Soleto TravelOperator•Written April 2025I will answer to your question on the booking page, where you purchased the tour. Just to keep all correspondence on the same page. I will send you the list of all entrances (which are however not mandatory) but can be pre purchased by card if you wish. While re the optional tours, I will send you a list of what is available as group and private tour as well.
