The countries we visited were beautiful, and we learned so much from our guide, Ilir. He was friendly, patient, kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. Every site and restaurant he recommended we visit in our free time was outstanding. I also sincerely appreciated the tour company and our guide staying in touch with us using WhatsApp--it was so easy and convenient. The only thing that wasn't so great was that some of our hotels didn't have strong AC, so it was hot when we tried to sleep. One of those hotels, Beatrix Luxe (in Budva), also had no lift, and our rooms were on the top floor. We had to carry our luggage up all those stairs and the rooms were hot. The location of all of our hotels was excellent, though. Hotel Mozart was outstanding, and the AC worked great!! I would enthusiastically recommend Tour Radar and Choose Balkans to travelers interested in visiting the Balkans. I wouldn't hesitate to take another tour with either company. Trip date: November 2024 - Sidra· September 9th, 2024Lovely introduction to the Balkans. Left us wanting more and a strong desire to come back. We were 2 female travellers and felt very well taken care of the entire trip. It was well coordinated and thought out. Gesi was a phenomenal host with great food recommendations in all of the locations we visited. He was flexible and knowledgeable. Gesi made sure we had a one of a kind experience, we are very grateful for this! There was also some car trouble on the first day of the trip but Choose Balkans handled it very well. The issue was not in anyone's control but they still dealt with it very well. They got us a different car and guide for 1 day so we would not miss out on Mostar, Bosnia while they resolved the car issues. Even the guide we had for one day was excellent and provided a tailored experience as a local. Choose Balkans dealt with such an unexpected situation so well including a lot of kindness and apologies from the staff and guide. This means a lot of driving to get from one place to another but if you are short of time this tour is perfect for seeing the highlights. One downside was the use of an electric car, which although was a noble attempt to be environmentally friendly, led to us having to stop a couple of times to charge. The places visited were very good. Our guide, Amarlido, was excellent - knowledgeable, good chat, and had great recommendations for things to see and places to eat. I had never prayed with a tour leader in a mosque before and this was an amazing experience for us! Ohrid, Tirana, Belgrade, Kotor, Berat, Niš, Pizren, Mostar, Sarajevo, and more. The planned stops were amazing. We enjoyed it tremendously and learned a lot along the way. Alfred, our guide, was wonderful. We can’t say enough about how pleasant he made the journey. He’s knowledgeable, kind, and always accessible. I am certain we will keep in touch. The staff from Choose Balkans was always accessible and easy to communicate with via WhatsApp. They checked in routinely. This trip (or any in the Balkans) will be unforgettable. The landscapes and stunning, the people are nice, the food is good, and the time of year we went was perfect (mostly devoid of other tourists), which we loved.
