Itinerary
- Day 1
Reykjavik to Akureyri
Your journey starts with a chartered bus leaving Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavik early in the day. The six-hour drive takes you through North Iceland's landscape, and you'll arrive in Akureyri during the afternoon. After boarding your ship, you'll head out onto the water in the early evening, beginning your voyage north toward the Denmark Strait.

Sailing North
Sailing north across open water, keep an eye out for seabirds like fulmars, kittiwakes, northern gannets, and guillemots cruising nearby. You'll cross the Arctic Circle during the day, where whales occasionally appear. As evening approaches, your first icebergs come into view as the ship nears the East Greenland coast at Brewster.

Landmarks Arctic Circle Brewster - Day 3
Scoresbysund and East Greenland
The ship reaches Scoresbysund and moves along the glaciated Volquart Boons Kyst. Morning brings a zodiac cruise near one of the glacier fronts, followed by time exploring the basalt columns and ice formations at Vikingebugt. In the afternoon, you'll sail past Milne Land's east coast with massive icebergs all around, and there's a chance to land at Charcot Havn for a walk to Charcot Glacier. Later, the ship heads to Bj\u00f8rne\u00f8r and into \u00d8fjord.

Sorte Ø and Red Fjord
Start with a zodiac cruise near Sorte \u00d8, where bright blue-white icebergs contrast sharply with sediment slopes along the shore. Later in the day, cruise through R\u00f8de Fjord's northern section and into Harefjord. You might spot musk oxen here, along with autumn vegetation clinging to the landscape.

Hall Bredning and Sydkap
Morning reveals colossal icebergs scattered throughout the fjord, some reaching over 100 meters high and stretching more than a kilometer long, with many resting on the bottom. You'll land near Sydkap to see Hall Bredning and possibly find Arctic hares. For those interested in a longer trek, there's a 12 km hike from Sydkap to Nord\u00f8stbugt along the shore to Satakajik, where you'll discover whale bones and remains of old Thule summer houses. Those not hiking can join other activities later.

Liverpool Land and Ittoqqortoormiit
The day begins with a landing in the tundra on Liverpool Land in Hurry Inlet. After that, the ship stops in Ittoqqortoormiit, a settlement of around 500 people and the largest in the Scoresbysund area. You can visit the post office to get stamps, walk around town to see sled dogs and dried seal and musk ox skins. As evening comes, the ship sets sail heading south past the Blosseville coast.

Stewart Ø
Stewart \u00d8 served as a crucial hunting station for people from Scoresby Sund, and it remains an excellent spot for observing polar bears and narwhals. The well-preserved remains of Thule houses scattered here offer glimpses into past inhabitants' lives.

Turner Sund and Rømer Fjord
Turner Sund and R\u00f8mer Fjord allow the ship to sail far inland without running into glacier fronts or thick ice. These waters provide a real opportunity to watch for narwhals moving through the deeper channels.

Day at Sea
Today is spent entirely at sea with chances to watch whales and seabirds throughout the day. Once darkness falls, the night sky offers opportunities to catch the Northern Lights if conditions cooperate.

Scoresbysund to Danmark Island
Back at Scoresbysund, the ship sails along the glaciated Volquart Boons coast with a possible zodiac excursion to a glacier front and a visit to the basalt columns and ice at Vikingebugt. You'll land on Danmark Island to walk through ruins of an Inuit settlement that people abandoned 200 years ago, including stone tent rings, summer and winter houses, entrances, bear-proof meat storage areas, and graves. In the evening, the ship continues west through narrow fjords with gigantic mountains towering on both sides.
