- Day 1
Lisbon
You'll arrive in Lisbon and get your first look at the city's colorful buildings spread across seven hills. After meeting your Travel Director and the rest of the group, there's an orientation drive showing off some of the city's key landmarks. Dinner wraps up the evening so you can settle in.

- Day 2
Lisbon
Start your day in Lisbon with a local guide who'll take you through the city's seafaring history. You'll see the Monument to the Discoveries first, then walk out to the 25 de Abril Bridge that crosses the Tagus River. The bridge itself is quite something to experience up close. After that, head to Belem Tower, which sits right on the water and gives you a real sense of how important this area was for Portugal's maritime past. Next, you'll tour the Hieronymite Monastery, a UNESCO site with remarkable 16th-century Manueline architecture throughout. The intricate stone carvings and details in this style are really worth taking time to see. If you're interested, there's an optional trip to the Golden Triangle in the afternoon, which includes Estoril, Cascais, and a visit to a royal palace. Later in the evening, you can arrange a traditional Portuguese dinner with Fado music if that appeals to you.

- Day 3
Lisbon to Algarve
Heading south across the Tagus, you'll reach the Serra da Arrábida Mountains and the Alentejo region. The highlight is a Be My Guest meal at a family ranch where Lusitano horses were historically raised, where you'll have lunch prepared by local hosts Tiago and Vera. From there it's south to the Algarve for a two-night stay.

- Day 4
Algarve
You'll visit Lagos, a historic resort town connected to Henry the Navigator and the Age of Discovery. Next comes Albufeira, a lively coastal town where you have free time to walk around, hit the beach, grab a bite at local cafes, or do some shopping.

Algarve to Évora
Travel north to Evora, an ancient Alentejo city and UNESCO World Heritage Site. A Local Specialist shows you the cathedral, Roman temple, and Chapel of Bones. Spend your afternoon walking the medieval city walls and having coffee and cake in Praca do Giraldo. There's an optional excursion to the medieval village of Monsaraz if you want. Dinner is at your hotel.

Évora to Viseu
You'll head to Castelo de Vide, a hilltop town with white-washed buildings, narrow streets, and a Jewish Quarter worth exploring. Continuing north toward the Serra de Estrela mountains, you'll arrive in Viseu, which sits on a plateau near the Dão vineyards. The city's 12th-century Sé cathedral overlooks the area and offers nice views along with other art and architecture to see.

Viseu to Porto
Moving through the Douro Valley with its vineyard-covered hillsides where Port wine comes from, you'll check out the Baroque gardens at Palacio de Mateus, the place featured on Mateus Rosé labels. Passing through Guimaraes, you'll see its impressive 10th-century castle before heading to Porto for a two-night stay along the river.

Porto
A Local Specialist guides you through Porto's baroque churches and winding cobblestone paths toward the Douro River. You'll see the bridges crossing the water and the Gothic Church of St. Francis, then visit the Stock Exchange Palace with its Arabian Hall inspired by Granada's Alhambra. After touring a Port cellar to learn about wine production, the afternoon is yours to stroll through historic Porto and check out the azulejo-covered buildings, or stop by Livraria Lello, the city's oldest bookstore.

Porto to Fátima
With a Local Specialist, you'll explore Coimbra and one of Europe's oldest and most important universities, then walk through ancient streets and squares. From there, you head to Tomar, a Templar city, to see the Convent of Christ, originally built as a Templar stronghold back in the 12th century. After that comes Fatima, a world-known pilgrimage site where millions of Catholic pilgrims visit each year, famous for the apparitions witnessed by three young shepherds.

Fátima to Lisbon
On the way back to Lisbon, you'll stop at Batalha, a UNESCO World Heritage Site showcasing Portugal's best example of late Gothic architecture. Next is Nazare, a fishing village on the Costa de Prata coast, then Obidos, a medieval walled city with whitewashed houses and old cobblestone streets. Your final evening features dinner at a family-run vineyard with organic wine and locally sourced food, a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER experience.
