Santa Cruz Island
After landing at Baltra Airport, your guide meets you and heads to the Charles Darwin Research Station where you'll see what international scientists are working on there. From there, you'll go to the Fauso Llerena Breeding Center to learn about the different giant Galapagos tortoise species and how they're cared for. It's a good introduction to the islands' conservation efforts.

Santa Cruz Island Diving
Early morning pickup from your hotel for a diving tour off Santa Cruz's coast. You'll get in the water to see sea lions, sharks, seals, eels, sea stars, and batfish. Depending on what the national park allows, you'll head to one of three dive sites where you might swim with hammerhead sharks, white tip sharks, golden rays, sea turtles, and other marine life.

Santa Cruz Island Diving
Another early morning dive off Santa Cruz, this time exploring the area's abundant marine life including thousands of sharks, eels, snakes, sea turtles, manta rays, barracudas, tropical fish, and octopuses. You might get to interact with curious sea lion pups or watch marine iguanas. The dive sites are close to the central islands and work for both experienced divers and beginners.

Landmarks/POIs Santa Cruz Island Dive Sites - Day 4
Cerro Mesa Ecological Reserve and Garrapatero Beach
You'll spend the day at Cerro Mesa Ecological Reserve and Garrapatero Beach to get a feel for the Galapagos. Start by walking through native forest with fresh air and nice views. Then try kayaking on Garrapaterop and biking on the roads while watching for small birds and Galapagos tortoises. Later, bike to the trail that leads to the bottom of the largest sinkhole on Santa Cruz, where you'll see the steep rock walls surrounding it.

Departure
If you have time before heading to the airport, spend it on some last-minute souvenir shopping or take a final walk through Puerto Ayora. At the set time, your driver picks you up from your hotel and takes you to Itabaca Channel for the ferry crossing. From there, you'll catch the public shuttle bus to the airport terminal, and that's where your program ends as you head back to the mainland.
