- Alice· April 3rd, 2024I booked this believing it would be a group tour with 1 group for the 7 days - it wasn't until after booking I was told I would be with different groups each day, sometimes multiple groups in one day. While this may suit some travellers, as I was solo it made it hard to get to know others on the tour. A lot of the tour felt very rushed and it seemed like we spent most of the time travelling rather than experiencing vietnam. The museum tours were almost always rushed and it was hard to stop and read exhibits. So much time was spent in a van or plane travelling from one place to the next. Some meals that we were told were included were not - I.e. a flight was booked where we were required to leave before our hotel even started to serve breakfast so had tp purchase own breakfast at the airport. In one of the hotels during the tour, I was bitten by either bedbugs or fleas all up my legs (toe to top of thigh) and am still itching and reacting to these bites that only occurred after a night in one of the beds, will be receiving GP help on return to home country for these. This made it particularly hard to enjoy the remaining 3 days of my trip and beyond. When booking, the description said we would spend the night in Ha Long Bay on an authentic Chinese Junk - instead we got a river boat which arguably did have junk sails but they were never raised and it was essentially just like every other river boat. Also, on the boat we were all sat with only our parties - so being solo this meant I was the only one sat at a single place serving table which felt very awkward and somewhat embarrassing and it also made it hard to get to know anyone else on the boat. Also, during activities on Ha Long Bay, I was told if we didn't wish to kayak we could go for a walk etc except we could only walk on the pedal farm barge which could be covered in w minutes, so almost an hour was sat doing nothing, I should have rather stayed on the boat which is what I did instead of the cave hike (arguably this was also because the bites received 2 days earlier were so itchy and uncomfortable it was hard to enjoy anything). However, the tour guides and Mr Danny were always very nice and Mr Danny in particular was always available for help and kept me as informed as he could. He was a great tour convener. The food was also enjoyable and tasty though it felt like we were eating the same menu multiple times. - Kimberly· January 9th, 2024My 21 year old daughter and I did the 7 day Vietnam at a glance tour in early December - it was fantastic. Mr. Danny, (our contact person) was ALWAYS available for any questions that we had. To note - the tour does not have one tour guide that goes with you for the entire trip, rather you have a new tour guide at each day/event and Mr. Danny is available via text and he meets you in Hanoi to ensure all is great. At the time of booking we upgraded to premium accommodation, and all were excellent. There was enough down time to not be exhausted and one can even plan their own adventures during the evenings in Hanoi. We independently booked a guided food tour via motorbike during one of our evenings in Hanoi - it was amazing. The food on the tour was outstanding and the cruise on Halong Bay was great - the cruise ship was great - to note the bay itself has been harmed by humans - it is not pristine and we did not swim in the bay. Note - APPLY FOR VIETNAM VISA EARLY AND TRIPLE CHECK THAT IS IS CORRECT - THEY OFTEN MAKE ERRORS AND YOU NEED TO RESUBMIT IT FOR CORRECTIONS- THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT YOU WITH ANY DISCREPANCY. This actually happened to me - I received my Vietnam Visa but I did not double check it for errors - the Vietnam government agency put in my wrong date of birth - I did not realize until I was checking in at the airport (we flew from Bangkok). I was very fortunate that I had time and my husband was at home and he was able to navigate a new Visa for me (it cost another $260 USA and was very stressful). You will not be allowed onto the airplane without correct documentation to enter Vietnam. I heard many similar stories about errors on Visa to Vietnam so check your Visa for accuracy to ensure you have no issues. Transfers, tours and trips were all punctual and the tour guides were very friendly. This trip covered a diverse range of areas over a short period of time starting from Ho Chi Minh City which is a lovely place where we wish we could have spent an extra day or two. - Nancy· February 15th, 2023We toured at the end of January. We had one day in Ho Chi z Minh City with a wonderful tour guide, and then flew to Hanoi. Hanoi was used mainly as a place to come back to between excursions. We went to Ha Long Bay and had a lovely overnight cruise on the bay, then returned to Hanoi to spend another night before going to a resort in the mountains. This was the least enjoyable part of the trip. The resort would be lovely during the warm months, but in January it was cold and damp. I think in winter months, effort should be made to find a resort in a warmer part of the country. We spent one more night there, then returned to Hanoi and flew out the next day. Mr. Johnny, the man who coordinated the tour was very kind and accommodating, and Jenny, our tour guide in Ho Chi Minh City, was marvelous. Great for Families and younger travelers alike who are visiting the country for the first time. My 3 tour guides; Danny (Hanoi), Lim (Saigon) & Lam (Ha Long Bay Cruise) were all 10/10 in my opinion. Energetic, likeable dudes with good English and humor. HCMC > Highlights : Vietnam war museum & French Presidential Palace. Cu Chi tunnels great for kids / families. Tour guide Lim was great. I wanted to begin by saying that the online service provided by Legend Travel Group was quick and responsive during their business hours (Vietnam time). They were clear and answered all of my questions before and after I booked the tour. Before the tour started, the sales rep that was handling my account messaged me and suggested an alternative to the second day of the tour presuming that since i had family in HCM City (based on prior conversations) if my party might want to change our itinerary and venture out of HCM to see another city with a unique story. My family appreciated their suggestion and we accepted the new itinerary. All of the accommodations and transportation were organized as promised. On the first day, the driver was on time and drove us to the intended destination (family's house not hotel as requested by me weeks prior to the start of the tour). My family and I got ourselves to Liberty Parkview Hotel Saigon when it was time for check-in. Process was simple, just show your passports. The hotel room was spacious and very clean. The breakfast buffet was great so I am glad it was a two-night stay there. The second day we joined a group of 8 people (including tour guide), we all had lunch together before being dropped off at the hotel again. The third day, a driver picked us up to head to the airport to fly to Hanoi. Upon arrival, the next tour guide and driver gave us a private view (dependent on your arrival into Hanoi) around the 36 streets/wards of Hanoi before being dropped off at Viet View Hotel Hanoi. The hotel room was smaller than the first, but it had all the essentials. The Hanoi guide was very informative while explaining the history of the city. We felt comfortable with this guide as he was friendly and helpful when it came to our questions. The next day was our trip to Ha Long Bay where we would meet the next & final group as we traveled by shuttle bus to the city of Ha Long. We liked our new guide too, he was full of character & very accommodating with us. The staff of Garden Bay Cruise was lovely and were great hosts. We felt respected and noticed all of their efforts in making the guests feel comfortable. The rooms were surprisingly spotless and food was much better than expected. I won't spoil the little surprises and experiences on board, but just know that we had a wonderful time & the cruise was our favorite part of the tour.
