    You'll fly into Bogota and arrive in the evening. Someone from the tour will meet you at the airport and drive you to your hotel, so you can settle in for the night.

    Bogota

    After grabbing breakfast, you'll spend the day exploring Bogota on a combined bike and walking tour. You'll check out street art and graffiti around the city, then head to the Gold Museum. Later you'll take a cable car up to Monserrate mountain for views across the whole city.

    Villa de Leyva to El Cocuy

    After breakfast, you'll head out in off-road vehicles to reach a trailhead at 3,800m/12,467ft. From there, you'll hike through paramo grassland and climb to Cerro Mahoma, a peak that gives you 360-degree views of the surrounding Cocuy massif.

    This is an early start. You'll drive to La Esperanza sector at 3,700m/12,139ft to catch sunrise. The hike takes you through Frailejones Valley with its distinctive plants, past Laguna Grande, and to the edge of the Pico Concavo glacier before heading back down to El Cocuy.

After grabbing lunch, you'll head out on foot toward Adams Camp, which serves as your base camp. The hike takes roughly 3 hours and covers 8km with just 50 meters of elevation gain, so it's a relatively gentle start. You'll walk through the coastal rainforest, spotting exotic plants and animals as the jungle thickens around you. The terrain feels almost untouched in places, and you're getting closer to the lost city with each step.

  12. Day 12

    Adams Camp to Rumualdos Camp

    After breakfast you'll head out from Adams Camp toward Rumualdos Camp, which sits at 900 meters altitude. The path takes you through the indigenous village of Mutanyi, where your guide will explain the history and daily routines of the local Tayrona descendants, including the Arhuaco, Kogui, Wiwa and Kakuamo communities. This 8-hour walk covers 15km with 500 meters of elevation gain, so it's a solid day of hiking. You'll break for lunch somewhere along the way, and afterward you can either take a swim in the Buritaca River or sit down with some locally grown coffee while looking out at the mountain views. As the afternoon continues, settlements disappear and wildlife becomes more common.

Ciudad Perdida sits between 900 and 1300 meters altitude, hidden in dense jungle, and was built between the 11th and 16th centuries as the heart of the Tairona civilization. You'll hike for about 4 hours, covering 9km with 300 meters of elevation gain and then 900 meters of descent as you approach the site. Walking through the ruins in the morning light gives the whole place a different feeling. You'll spend the night at a basic camp located near the archaeological site.

    Ciudad Perdida to Tayrona National Park

From there, you'll climb into an off-road vehicle for roughly 1 hour and cover 25km heading back down to the Caribbean coast.
