- Day 1
Kilimanjaro Airport to Moshi
You'll get picked up at Kilimanjaro Airport and head to your hotel in Moshi. This first day is all about settling in and getting your bearings before the trek begins tomorrow.

Nalemoru Gate to First Cave Camp
After your briefing, you'll drive to Nalemoru Gate where you meet your porters and guides. The trek starts through humid rainforest that gradually shifts to heather zone as you gain elevation. By evening you'll reach First Cave Camp for your first night camping.

Landmarks/POIs Nalemoru Gate Mount Kilimanjaro - Day 3
First Cave Camp to Kikelewa Camp
You'll hike through high moorland where giant senecia plants stand out against the landscape above the heather forest. Stop for lunch at Second Cave Camp, then continue on a rocky path toward Mawenzi peak. You'll finish the day at Kikelewa Camp with unique views of Kibo's eastern side.

Kikelewa Camp to Mawenzi Tarn Camp
The terrain gets steeper and more rocky as you move through heathland and moorland. Vegetation starts to thin out noticeably as altitude increases. By late afternoon you'll arrive at Mawenzi Tarn Camp, which sits on Kilimanjaro's only mountain lake with views of Mawenzi's distinctive jagged peak.

Acclimatization Day
This is an acclimatization day at Mawenzi Tarn Camp. Short hikes around the camp help your body adjust to the altitude. If you're feeling up to it, you can climb Mawenzi's scree slopes to roughly 4650 m for views of Kibo, though you'll want to avoid the rock faces where falling rocks are a hazard.

Mawenzi Tarn Camp to School Hut
You'll trek across the dry Kibo Saddle with big views of the Kenyan plains stretched out below. The School Hut sits at the foot of Kibo and serves as your base camp before the final summit push tomorrow night.

School Hut to Uhuru Peak and Horombo Huts
Around midnight you'll start heading up Kibo for the summit push. The climb itself isn't technically difficult but it's long and physically demanding through the night hours. You'll reach Gilman's Point at 5685 m around sunrise, then push on for another 1.5 hours to Uhuru Peak at 5895 m, Africa's highest point. After celebrating, you'll descend to Kibo Hut for lunch and continue down to Horombo huts for the night.

Landmarks/POIs Uhuru Peak Gilman's Point Mount Kilimanjaro - Day 8
Horombo Huts to Moshi
You'll make the relaxed descent down to Marangu Gate where you get your summit certificate and say goodbye to your porters and guides (a tip is customary). From there it's a drive back to Moshi for your final night to rest and celebrate your achievement.

Departure from Moshi
You'll transfer to the airport for your departure, or head to any connecting program you've arranged.
