You'll arrive in Cairo and head to your hotel to get settled. The afternoon and evening are open for you to do as you like. If you're not too tired from traveling, grab dinner at one of the riverside restaurants overlooking the Nile, or you could catch the sound and light show at the pyramids if the timing works out. It's really up to what you're in the mood for after your flight.

    Optional Activities

    • Dinner at a restaurant with Nile River views
    • Sound and light show at the pyramids

From there, head to Memphis to see the colossal statue of Ramses II, and then move on to Saqqara's necropolis where King Zhoser's Step Pyramid stands out as one of the oldest monumental structures made from stone.

Sherif Fawzy, was our guide on our fabulous "On the Go" Egypt tour. I can't rate him highly enough. Sherif is calm, organised, kind and thoughtful, and extremely knowledgeable. Our group of Kiwis, Australians and Canadians just loved him. Our every need was superbly looked after -nothing was an issue. Great leadership takes skill and guiding is like "herding cats" - but Sherif takes time to explain why, when and how, He kept us fully informed, patiently answered many questions, we truly felt like a "family" - this is the most memorable tour i have even been on and Sherif made it extra special.
