Itinerary
- Day 1
Wadi Rayan - Wadi Hitan
You'll start before dawn with a 4x4 pickup heading out to Fayoum Oasis. The first stop is Magic Lake, then you'll continue to Lake Qarun where the landscape shifts dramatically. After that, you're heading to Wadi Rayan, which sits about 42 meters below sea level and has waterfalls worth seeing. The main event here is Wadi Hitan (Valley of the Whales), a UNESCO site packed with over 400 whale and sea cow skeletons from 40 million years ago. You'll swing by Mudawara Mountain for panoramic desert views, pass through Tunis village, grab dinner, and settle in at a desert camp for the night.

Fayoum to Bahariya Oasis
An early transfer takes you to Bahariya Oasis, which involves roughly 6 hours driving covering 440 kilometers. After lunch, you'll spend the afternoon checking out Salty Lake, Dest (Pyramid Mountain), and Maghrafa Mountain. Later, you'll walk over to Bir el Ghaba and el Matar warm springs where you can take a dip if you want. Before wrapping up, there's English Mountain to see. Dinner happens back at your hotel where you're staying the night.

White Desert
After breakfast, you're venturing into the Black Desert around Bahariya Oasis to see Gabal el Marsos (Divided Mountain), which gets its dark color from iron-rich black rocks. You'll stop at a small Bedouin village called El Hez where there's a natural spring, then break for lunch outdoors. From there, it's about 160 kilometers of mixed on and off-road driving to reach the White Desert. Along the way, you'll stop at Crystal Mountain, Agabat Valley el Sharkia, El Santa tree, and Flower Stone. The White Desert itself has chalk-white landscape and wind-carved rock formations shaped like mushrooms. You'll spend the night at a desert camp.

White Desert to Cairo
You'll have breakfast, then cross back through the White Desert heading toward Bahariya Oasis. From there, the drive continues returning you to Cairo to wrap up the trip.
