Zhangye
You'll arrive in Zhangye and get settled at your hotel using your ID. If you need a pickup from the airport or railway station, just let your tour operator know and they can arrange transportation for you.

Zhangye to Jiayuguan
After an hour's drive, you'll reach Danxia Mountains, known locally as Zhangye Rainbow Mountain. The landscape here features striking red, yellow, white and black clay formations that shift color throughout the day. From there, it's a three-hour drive to Jiayuguan where you'll check in for the night.

- Day 3
Jiayuguan to Dunhuang
Start your morning at Jiayuguan Fortress, the western end of the Great Wall and a UNESCO World Heritage site. It sits in the Hexi Corridor between Qilian Mountain and Black Mountain. Later, you'll drive five hours across the Gobi desert to Dunhuang, following the historic Silk Road route.

Dunhuang
This morning you'll visit Mogao Caves, featuring colorful frescoes and statues with Buddhist stories from the 4th century onwards. In the afternoon, head to Minsha Shan (Singing Sand Dunes) and Crescent Moon Spring where you can ride camels. By evening, explore the night market or catch a Dunhuang performance at the theater.
