Arrival in Lisbon
You'll arrive in Lisbon and get a transfer to your hotel in Carcavelos. After settling in, you'll meet the other travelers over dinner at the hotel.

Lisbon City Tour
Your guided tour of Lisbon starts at Rossio Square, then you'll take the Elevador da Glória funicular up to Belvedere São Pedro de Alcantara for city views. From there, you'll walk through Príncipe Real Square and into the historic Bairro Alto and Chiado districts, checking out designer shops and fado bars. The Bica lift gets you down to Mercado da Ribeira, where you can find Portuguese delicacies. The afternoon is free to explore on your own, and you can hop on one of the nostalgic streetcars if you want.

Sintra and Cabo da Roca
This morning you're heading to Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to explore the romantic palace at Quinta da Regaleira. After that, you'll drive to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of Europe, where you'll see fantastic views of the rugged coastline. On the way back to the hotel, you'll pass through the fashionable seaside towns of Cascais and Estoril along the Portuguese Riviera.

Alfama and Cascais Dinner
You'll spend the day in the romantic Alfama district, starting at Castelo de São Jorge fortress with panoramic city views. You'll check out the viewpoints at Miradouro de Santa Luzia and Largo das Portas do Sol, then walk through narrow streets past the Sé Cathedral and Santo António Church. Later, you'll visit a small shop to taste traditional ginjinha cherry liqueur. The afternoon is free, and there's an optional visit to the Azulejo Museum if you want to see Portuguese ceramic tile craftsmanship. Evening brings dinner with your tour guide at a restaurant in Cascais.

Leisure Day in Carcavelos
This is your leisure day. You can relax at the beach or use the hotel's indoor and outdoor pools and sun terrace. If you prefer, you can take public transport to explore Lisbon (about 25 km away) or nearby Cascais (about 6 km away). Your tour guide is around if you need recommendations for activities and attractions.

Setúbal, Sesimbra and Azeitão Wine Region
You'll drive to Setúbal to visit the castle, which has beautiful views of the Arrabida Mountains and the bay. After exploring the local fish market with its fresh marine products, you'll head through scenic serpentine roads to the fishing town of Sesimbra. You can walk along the long sandy beach and through the old town, then grab lunch at one of the fish restaurants (your cost). The day ends in the Aitão wine region where you'll visit a winery, taste wines, and learn about production. You'll head back via the April 25th Bridge.

Belém District and Final Evening
You're exploring the Belém district, where you'll see two UNESCO World Heritage Sites from the Age of Discovery: the Jerónimos Monastery and Torre de Belém harbor fortress (both exterior tours). You'll try the traditional Pastéis de Belém, warm custard tarts made the same way for over 180 years. After that, you'll wander through the city at your own pace, including a stroll through Mouraria, the former Moorish quarter and birthplace of fado. Dinner at a typical restaurant wraps up the trip so you can reflect on your time in Portugal.
