Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arrival in Accra

    You'll land at Kotoka International Airport where your guide or driver meets you for the transfer to your hotel. They'll handle check-in, which starts at noon, and help you settle in so you're ready to go the next day.

  2. Day 2

    Ntonsu - Kumasi

    Head out to Bonwire Kente Weaving Village to watch artisans work the horizontal strip looms and see how traditional kente cloth comes together. After that, move on to Ntonsu Craft Village where you'll learn the full process of making adinkra symbols, starting with dye preparation and moving through stamping and embroidery. Spend the night in Kumasi.

  3. Day 3

    Kumasi to Tamale

    Manhyia Palace is your main stop today, the official home and administrative center of the Ashanti Kingdom since it was built in 1925 to receive King Prempeh I when he returned from exile. You'll see statues of past kings and original furniture throughout, plus learn about Ashanti history and traditions. Later, drive to Tamale and check in for the evening.

  4. Day 4

    Tamale

    Start the morning with a walk around Tamale, then relax back at your hotel. Spend time with locals to get a feel for how people actually live here, trying the local food, listening to music, and joining in on some dancing. As evening comes, hit some of the popular spots around the city for nightlife with live band performances, good food, and drinks.

  5. Day 5

    Larabanga

    Head into Mole National Park, Ghana's largest, where you'll take safari rides and walks to spot elephants, buffalos, zebras, antelopes, and other wildlife. Stop by the Mole Museum to see animal specimens up close. Then make your way to Larabanga Mosque, built around 1421 and the oldest mosque in West Africa, followed by the Larabanga Mystic Stone, which locals say mysteriously returns to its original location.

    Tamale Village Tour

    Spend the day in a typical Tamale village with local residents. You'll see the mud and hut houses, visit the stream, help with cooking using traditional clay pots, tour the chief's palace, and even experience boarding a commercial bus the way locals do every day.

  7. Day 7

    Kumasi

    Drive from Tamale back toward Kumasi with stops along the way. Kintampo Waterfalls is your main destination, the highest waterfall in Bono Region, surrounded by deep forest and natural scenery that's quite peaceful. After spending time there, continue the drive back to Kumasi.

  8. Day 8

    Kumasi to Accra

    Visit Prempeh II Jubilee Museum to see cultural artifacts and learn about Ashanti lifestyle and heritage, including personal belongings of Prempeh II. From there, go to the Okomfo Anokye Sword site, where an unmovable sword planted roughly 300 years ago is believed to protect the Ashanti Kingdom. Then drive back to Accra.

Stop by Black Star Square to see Ghana's independence monument with its Independence Arc and Flame of Liberation. Use the rest of the day for final shopping, packing, and hotel checkout before your departure.
