- JJulian· December 10th, 2025Despite the very poor weather conditions (Tropical Storm Ditwah, which had major consequences for the island's infrastructure), we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Sri Lanka. When the weather became too bad (and even dangerous), our tour was quickly adjusted by our professional guide Chandima. Hotel bookings were immediately changed to ensure our family's safety during the cyclone. Although we couldn't continue our original tour due to roadblocks, a new itinerary was quickly chosen, including new activities organized by our guide. All the hotels we stayed in were fantastic (the rooms were large and clean) with good breakfasts and good dining options (all included in our tour). Once the storm passed (after a few days), we were even able to enjoy the wonderful weather again. We had such a fun time traveling with him throughout the tour. The accommodation was of a good standard except for the final hotel, I would definitely recommend that the Coral Rock hotel is changed.Show more

Ours was a compacted 8 night tour of the highlights of Sri Lanka which included all the must do's and some optional extra add-ons almost all of which we squeezed into the itinerary. What made it most enjoyable was the wonderful full-time tour guide with us, Janaka Priyadarshana, who is so knowledgeable with a great personality that kept us moving along from place to place due to his excellent driving skills and comfortable car that whisked us through the windy roads in the mountains and past the thousands of tuk tuks and motorbikes not to mention buses that are everywhere. We stayed in seven different hotels most of a very good standard and all very welcoming. Word of warning there is little time for R&R on this package but it was actually what we wanted after spending 9 days in the Maldives beforehand. It might be an idea to add on a few extra days during or at the end to relax by the pool at one of the beach resort hotels.
