Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival
You'll be met at the international airport by staff who'll help you through customs and get your currency exchanged. From there, it's a transfer to your hotel where you'll settle in for the night.

City Tour to Buea
After breakfast, you'll take a guided city tour to check out local crafts and learn how African city life works here. Then you're heading to Buea at the foot of Mount Cameroon, where you'll get ready for the trek and spend the night at the Protestant Visitor Center.

Landmarks/POIs Mount Cameroon - Day 3
Lower Slopes
Your climb starts early from the 1000-meter point in the rainforest. You'll walk through gentle slopes with great trees and black lava flows, seeing Limbe's black beaches below. The path keeps climbing through volcanic terrain and mysterious mists until you reach the second refuge near Man's Spring where you'll camp. This takes about 6 hours of walking.

Landmarks/POIs Mount Cameroon Limbe - Day 4
Summit Plateau
This day is all hiking around craters and volcanic openings from 1980 and 1999. The summit plateau has exceptional views with an unusual lunar-like landscape, dark volcanic rocks, rare plants, fumaroles, and mists all around. You return to camp for dinner and sleep. Expect roughly 5 hours of walking.

- Day 5
Mount Cameroon Summit
Early start for the final push to the summit. You'll navigate soft slopes around several craters, cones, and hornitos while seeing active volcanic features like fumaroles and lava flows. Then you reach Mount Cameroon's summit, the highest point in West Africa, with rare views across the plain before descending to camp at about 2,850 meters. About 6 hours of walking.

- Day 6
Mount Cameroon Descent to Buea
Your last descent moves through the forest as slopes get gentler. By late morning you're back in Buea with the rest of the day to yourself. Then you head to your hotel for dinner and overnight. The walking takes about 4 hours.

Cultural Visit
You're traveling from Buea toward Bafang, the capital of Haut-Nkam in the Western province and heart of Bamileke country, Cameroon's largest ethnic group. There you'll visit the chieftaincy and meet the king to learn about mystic traditions, secret societies, traditional rites, and dances. After that, you drive to your accommodation near Nkongsamba for dinner and overnight.

Manengouba Mountains Exploration
Spend the day exploring Manengouba mountain with its two crater lakes called 'the male' and 'the female'. You'll walk around old grassy volcanic cones throughout the day, then head down to Villa Luciole in Mbouroukou for dinner and overnight. It's roughly 7 hours of walking.

Mbouroukou to Douala
Early morning start from the grassy slopes, crossing through forests and small villages on your way back to Douala. Along the route you'll pass exotic fruit stalls, street vendors, and local goods at every stop. Once you reach Douala, that huge African city on the Wouri River, you'll check into your hotel for day use, explore the city at night, try local food, then head to the airport for checkout.
