Itinerary
- Day 1
Hanoi to Ha Giang
Your driver picks you up from the city and heads toward the Ha Giang countryside through Tuyen Quang. You'll reach a local Tay homestay by early afternoon and settle in. After that, take a short walk around the rice fields, or if you're up for it, trek to a nearby waterfall and cool off in the natural pools. Dinner happens with your host family, and you'll stay overnight at the homestay.

- Day 2
Ha Giang to Dong Van
Following breakfast, drive to Dong Van Karst Plateau and pass through some impressive landscape along the way. You'll see Pac Sum pass, Heaven Gate, and Fairy Mountain in Quan Ba, which offers views looking down over Tam Son Town. Stop for lunch in Yen Minh, then visit Pao's House (known from the film 'The Story of Pao'), walk through Lung Cam B village where H'mong people live, and check out the Vuong family residence, which is the Hmong King's Palace. Later, continue to Dong Van town for dinner and an overnight stay at Rocky Plateau Hotel.

Dong Van
After breakfast, walk around the Dong Van Old Quarter to see houses that date back one or two hundred years. The atmosphere there is peaceful and feels ancient. Spend the rest of the day traveling through remote countryside, visiting old houses and Hmong minority villages. Trek up to the flag tower at the top of Lung Cu Mountain and look out at the ancient valley below. By evening, head back to Dong Van and transfer to a Hmong house in Ma Lé village for the night.

Ma Lé to Ha Giang
After breakfast, head back toward Ha Giang by a different route. Stop at Ma Pi Leng Pass for a hike through that incredible stretch of road and take photos of the mountains and valleys. If it's a market day, visit Meo Vac Market, then continue back through Bao Lam, Bao Lac, and Bac Me. Grab lunch during the drive and arrive in Ha Giang by late afternoon. Check in and you're free to explore town or take it easy.

Ha Giang to Hoang Su Phi
After breakfast, start a full day trip to Sin Man and Hoang Su Phi from Ha Giang Town. The route goes through dense jungle and winds over passes with many hairpin bends down to Sin Man. Spend about three hours hiking to Nam Hong where you'll meet people from various ethnic minority communities like Nung Ing, Tay, Red Dao, Dao Ao Dai, La Chi, and Co Lao groups. Stay overnight in a homestay in Hoang Su Phi.

Hoang Su Phi to Bac Ha
Drive to Bac Ha, the capital of the Flower Hmong region, which serves as a good base for exploring the northern highlands and hill-tribe villages. Stop at 'King Cat's house' (the Hmong King's palace) and have lunch along the way. Trek through Ban Pho across corn-growing valleys and areas where poppies grew during French colonial times. The mountainous road through Hoang Su Phi offers nice scenery all day long.

- Day 7
Bac Ha to Sapa
After breakfast at your hotel, head out on a full day trek to see Sapa's cultural mix and natural landscape. Hike through valleys with terraced rice fields and walk through remote hill tribe villages. Pick one of three trek options: soft trek (about 3 km), medium trek (about 6 km), or long trek (about 12 km). You'll have lunch in a hill tribe village and then have free time to explore on your own. Dinner comes with a local family, and you'll sleep in a traditional longhouse homestay.

Landmarks/POIs Sapa - Day 8
Sapa to Hanoi
After breakfast at the homestay, your driver takes you back to Sapa Town where you can look around at your own pace. In the afternoon, drive back to Lao Cai to head to Hanoi. If interested, try Asia's longest cable car from Sapa Town to Fansipan Mountain (3,143m, the highest peak in Southeast Asia). The 30 minute ride offers nice views of terraced rice fields. At the top, visit the temples and climb about 600 stairs or use the funicular before heading back to Sapa for a hotel overnight.
