Itinerary
- Day 1
Hanoi to Sapa
You'll get picked up from your hotel in downtown Hanoi and head to the train station for an overnight train to Sapa. The journey takes you through the night, so you'll sleep on the train as you make your way to this mountain town.
Landmarks/POIs Sapa - Day 2
Sapa
The morning gives you free time to check out Sapa on your own terms. Grab some breakfast, walk through the side streets, and find the tribal markets scattered around town. Later in the afternoon, you'll meet your guide and cycling group for a briefing, get fitted to your bikes, then head to dinner featuring Northern Vietnamese food.

Landmarks/POIs Sapa - Day 3
Sapa to Lao Cai to Sapa
You'll leave your lodge early and transfer into Sapa town for a coffee stop, then start riding with almost 30 km of downhill ahead. The route takes you to Lao Cai where there's a photo stop at the China border bridge, after which you'll head through back country roads with plenty of climbing on the way back. Dinner is Hmong-inspired food back in Sapa town.

Landmarks/POIs Sapa Lao Cai - Day 4
Sapa to Than Uyen
Start the day with a mostly gentle climb out of Sapa up to O Quy Ho Pass, then you get to enjoy a fast 20 km descent. After that comes a gently rolling ride into Than Uyen where you'll stay at the District Guesthouse. By evening, grab cold beer and chicken glass noodle soup from a street vendor, and if you're interested, check out the local market.

Than Uyen to Nghia Lo
You're back on the bike heading toward Khau Pha Pass, one of the nicest sections on the route. Stop somewhere along the way for lunch, then finish with mostly downhill riding into Nghia Lo. The town has more comfort options than previous stops, good local food, and you can try some Bigken minikegs from the area.

Landmarks/POIs Khau Pha Pass Nghia Lo - Day 6
Nghia Lo to Mai Chau
Today's riding takes you through back country on undulating roads, past small villages and over a challenging pass. You'll cross a lake by ferry, then tackle a 6 km climb averaging 5% out of the Do River valley before getting picked up by van. There's an optional route if you want to keep cycling the last climb to Moc Chau, which adds another 700 meters of elevation over 20 km. Tonight you'll stay at a nice lodge with a pool in Mai Chau, which is home to Thai minority groups.

Mai Chau to Hanoi
After the previous day's hard work, you have downtime in Mai Chau to relax and use the hotel's pool and massage facilities. If you want to stay active, there are options for gentle trekking or mountain biking through the countryside with Thai minority villages nearby. Later, you'll transfer back to Hanoi where the tour ends.
