Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival at Colombo to Sigiriya
Your driver will meet you at Bandaranaike International Airport and take you toward Sigiriya. On the drive, you'll stop at the Dambulla rock cave temple, then visit the Pinnewala Elephant Orphanage where you can see abandoned and injured elephants of different ages. You'll arrive at your Sigiriya hotel as the sun sets.

- Day 2
Sigiriya to Polonnaruwa
After breakfast, it's time to tackle the Sigiriya rock fortress climb, one of the country's most visited spots. Your driver then takes you to Polonnaruwa, about an hour away. You'll spend the afternoon walking through the ancient city, checking out the vantage point and the historic monasteries that are scattered around. By evening you'll check into your hotel in Polonnaruwa.

- Day 3
Polonnaruwa to Anuradhapura
Following breakfast, you'll head to Anuradhapura, roughly 2 hours away, one of Sri Lanka's most famous ancient cities founded by King Pandukabhaya. In the afternoon, a guide takes you to eight sacred sites including Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi and Ruwanwelisaya, plus other historic stupas dotted throughout. You return to your Anuradhapura hotel after the tour.

Anuradhapura to Kandy
After eating, you'll drive toward Kandy (about 3 hours) and stop at a herbal spice garden in Matale along the way. Kandy itself sits in the central province surrounded by tropical valleys and wildlife. After checking in, you'll have time to rest before heading out in the evening to see the colorful Kandyan dance performances.

Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
Breakfast comes first, then a city tour of Kandy where you'll visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, which holds Buddha's tooth. If you're interested, there are gem and batik shops to explore. Later you'll head to Peradeniya station for a scenic train ride through tea plantations to Nuwara Eliya (about 2 hours by car to reach the station). Your driver meets you at Nanu Oya and takes you to your hotel where you can relax.

Nuwara Eliya to Ella
You'll drive to Ella after breakfast, stopping at Hakgala Botanical Garden on the way. Ella is a charming highland town with tea plantations, mountains, and waterfalls all around you. In the afternoon, you'll take a city tour visiting Little Adam's Peak, the Demodara Nine Arch Bridge, and the Ella Rock viewpoint for some great views.

Ella to Mirissa
It's a 4 hour 30 minute drive to Mirissa, a lively beach town on the south coast. The area is known for whale and dolphin watching from December through March, where spinner dolphins and blue whales show up regularly. You'll spend the afternoon on the beach and have time to relax.

- Day 8
Mirissa to Colombo Airport
Early in the morning you'll head out on a boat safari off Mirissa for dolphin and whale watching. The departure point at Dondara is just minutes from your hotel. After the boat returns, you'll drive to the airport by way of Colombo, stopping for shopping and a quick look around the city before your flight.
