Haggis Adventures commented on this reviewDear Bente, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a 5 * review of your recent tour experience. We are delighted to read that you had such an enjoyable time on tour with Ryan P. We will be sure to pass on your kind words. We look forward to... Show moreTrip date: September 2025- NKNiels· September 3rd, 2025I recently joined the tour through the Scottish Highlands and the Isle of Skye with Haggis Adventures. While the trip had some memorable moments, there were also several aspects that didn’t meet expectations. Positives: -Our tour guide was fantastic -> enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and made the journey engaging throughout. -The distillery visit was a definite highlight. It was well-organized and offered a great insight into the whisky-making process. -The hostel accommodation was clean, comfortable, and exceeded expectations. -The overall organization of the trip was smooth, with good time management and clear communication. Negatives: -The age range of participants was not as advertised. The tour was marketed for travelers aged 18–45, but most participants were well over 60. This significantly impacted the group dynamic and energy. -The itinerary included too many museum stops for my taste. I would have preferred more outdoor activities or historical landmarks. For example, the Old Man of Storr was only viewed from a distance during a brief photo stop—no hike or closer visit was included. -A major disappointment was Eilean Donan Castle. Despite being a famous and iconic site, we didn’t go inside or even get close—just a 5-minute photo stop from afar. In conclusion, while the tour had its strengths—especially the guide, distillery visit, and accommodation—it didn’t fully deliver on the adventure and demographic it promised. With a few adjustments to the itinerary and better alignment with the advertised age group, this could be a much more enjoyable experience.Show more

Haggis Adventures commented on this reviewHi Tamryn, Good Afternoon Thanks for your 5 star review. We are glad you enjoyed your tour with us. Tom, Matt and Dave are amazing driver guides and we will pass your feedback on. We look forward to welcoming you on another tour with us. Kind regards KeithTrip date: April 2025 - MTMarcella· March 15th, 2025ToRva our guide was fantastic! He made the trip entertaining and informative - warning ‼️ if you choose this company get the HOTEL package it includes free hot/cold buffet breakfast at each location NOT the hostel option - I switched mid trip to hotels as the hostel accommodations were the absolute cheapest options and got worse as the trip went -had no towels for a shower, creaky/ noisy beds no plugins at the beds, no reading lights, not nice at all - and last one had shared unisex bathroom all all toilets were constantly clogged plus “very sketchy men” I felt bad for fellow women who stayed at Inverness hostel - as they told me -you made the right choice.- Remember the tiny towns had nothing (not even a store) - open at 8-8:30 am so couldn’t even buy coffee or food till 2 stops away. It was hard being there so early spring so a lot of places were closed but definitely our guide made sure we had a good time and took us to places off the tour in the areas that we wanted to see. Torva had great stories and he definitely made the trip entertaining.Show more

Show moreTrip date: March 2025 - KLKate· October 7th, 2024The tour I took was called Lochs, Castles and The Kelpies, and I took it on November 23, 2023. In short, I loved it! The history of the places and fun facts kept coming as we drove to and from each destination. Our guides went out of their way to show us an amazing day! Besides viewing the Western Highlands of Scotland, my favourite was The Kelpies. The history of the sculptures, and the majesty and beauty of the Kelpies against the beautiful landscape, was something I will always remember.Show more

Dusty is an excellent guide and did an amazing job of keeping us informed and on time. The only area I would say needs to be changed is the size of the bus seats. When driving around for 5 days the seats are small and not as comfortable as other tours.Show more

Marilyn· September 1st, 2024This was a well organized overview of the Scottish Highlands, capturing the highlights and offering a nice variety of activities. We hope to welcome you back on another tour with us. Kind Regards. KeithTrip date: August 2024- SLSusanna· August 4th, 2024A great introduction to Scotland and its culture and traditions. We regularly stopped at lovely villages, saw some stunning sites and drove through the most beautiful landscapes. Everyday there were some possibilities to do some walks, and as we arrived at the hotel by 5pm in the evening, we had lots of time off to explore the villages and dive into local food and entertainment. We were a group of 29 of all ages, and a good mixture of couples, families and solo travellers. I booked the hostel accommodation which was fine because we were the same people from the group staying in one room. Our guide Paul was perfect, very kind and knowledgeable. He entertained us during the bus rides with interesting and funny stories, background information and music. He was mindful of our needs and wishes, and a great driver. I can highly recommend this tour!Show more

Haggis AdventuresOperator•Written September 2025We have folk of all ages go on our tours so the two of you will be fine to book. Tour comes with mixed gender, shared hostel dorm accommodation which may be why it recommends for between those ages but there are no restrictions on this.

Traveler•Written September 2025Can you confirm that my friend and I will be sharing a room for just us two, each with our own bed?
Haggis AdventuresOperator•Written September 2025This tour itinerary is shared as a departure for passengers booking with Haggis Adventures and our sister brand Highland Explorer Tours. We welcome passengers of all ages from 18+ on tour. Haggis Adventures offers budget friendly version with multi share, mixed gender hostel dormitories. There is also option of booking with Highland Explorer Tours with private B&B rooming at a higher price point.

Traveler•Written September 2025In the Tour Radar form it states 'private dorm room'. Does this mean my friend and I will have our own room with 2 beds?
Haggis AdventuresOperator•Written September 2025You have booked the tour with Haggis Adventures, this brand offers dorm accommodation only. This is not a private room, and some hostels this might be mixed dorms. I would advise looking for Highland Explorer Tours, here you can book more private accommodation.
