- LMLinda· August 26th, 2023I was absolutely discouraged with the accommodations, The brochure did not say initially we would sleep in a hostel. Then I was told we would . Not willingly I agreed. When we got to the hostel the people did not understand English. The room was 8' x 12-14' with 6 beds. No room for luggage even. Then we had to share with to young ladies in their 20's. We are two couples in our 70's. How inappropriate is that. Then I had listed on your information sheet I was extremely allergic to shrimp. Even smelling it I have a severe reaction. Someone was cooking shrimp and I had a reaction..We had to leave the hostel. We ended up with a family room for 300 pounds a night, a total of 600 ponds unexpected cost. I was called the night before to check if I was OK with the hostel. I said I was not but guess I did no have a choice as we were in Scotland already. Why were there only a few of us that had to stay in a hostel. The rest were in nice hotels. The tour guide Karis was wonderful in trying to help find rooms.. I expect you to pay for the rooms. What do you intend to do for this major catastrophe in what was supposed to be a great vacation?Show moreTrip date: August 2023
- JLJanet· August 21st, 2023guide was great. really enjoyed the beautiful scenery and oppotunities for photos. hostel was average but good location. when booking didn't realise that could do different accommidatiion although i did get asked if i was okay with hostel. generally good value.Show moreTrip date: August 2023
- TBTerri· August 18th, 2023Karis was a very good guide and a very skillful driver, I was very disappointed in the accommodation provided by Haggis Tours. I only realised that it is a budget tour company and expected to stay in a dormitory but I did not expect to stay in a hostel that I would have stayed in in the 1980s. The standard of hostels has improved a lot since then. At nearly 76 years old I did not find the accommodation at all comfortable.Show moreTrip date: August 2023

- SCSamantha· July 2nd, 2023We had a fantastic three-day tour of the Highlands and Skye. Our guide, Dusty, was great. He organised everything perfectly and his commentary throughout the tour was lively and informative. He really took care of us! The tour itself is an excellent way to get a taste for the Scottish Highlands without having to hire a car or deal with the pot-holed backroads of Skye! The scenery was just magnificent and the stops both going up to the Isle of Skye and on the return were well worth it. We visited Loch Ness on the way up and Glencoe on the way back. The hostel accommodation was cheap and cheerful, but did the trick, and the independent hostel is right in the middle of Portree on Skye, so it's really convenient. And it has a huge kitchen so you can self-cater. A fabulous tour. Highly recommend!Show moreTrip date: June 2023
- Diane· June 19th, 2023Great experience with Skye High Haggis adventures. Our tour guide Dusty was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about area and it’s history. He was also a great storyteller! We saw the highlights in a short period without the stress of driving and couldn’t be happier with the experience I would highly recommend Haggis tours and the Skye High adventure.Show moreTrip date: June 2023

What our customers ask about this tour
The content in our FAQ section is subject to change.- L
Lucy
Asked on April 3rd, 2025Would like to know if you have vegetarian or vegan specific tours
- Haggis AdventuresOperator•Written April 2025
Haggis Adventures Tours include accommodation based on multishare, mixed gender hostel dorm accommodation. The tour packages do not include meals. We would also recommend checking out our sister brand, Highland Explorer Tours who offer the same itineraries such as the 3 day Isle of Skye tour with 3* B&B accommodation which will include a complimentary Scottish breakfast. Our accommodation partners are generally able to accommodate vegetarian/vegan dietary requests but we do ask that travellers consider that certain destinations visited may be very rural with more limited choice at local eateries for travellers with dietary considerations.

Asked on October 21st, 2024I just wanted to track to see if there was a luggage limitation for this tour as a few that I've seen has a 15kg. Given that I'm coming from Australia I would likely have more luggage

We are currently unable to store your luggage while you are on tour, however, we're partnering with Unbaggaged, an exclusive luggage concierge in Edinburgh that not only stores your luggage securely but also offers on-demand pick-up and drop-off services.
