- MCMarina· March 31st, 2025We went to Isle of Skye tour with Timberbush Tours. Absolutely beautiful scenery! Even weather did not cooperate, our tour guide Andrew made any effort to make our tour very entertaining and memorable. Thanks a lot Andrew!Show moreTrip date: March 2025
- KATERYNA· March 12th, 2025I had booked my 3-Day Isle of Skye, Highlands, and Loch Ness Tour from Edinburgh, on 15th January 2025 and was due to go on the trip on 4th February 2025 only to be told it is cancelled 3 days before the trip (Saturday, 1st February 2025) - reason being - ‘Not Enough People’. I was flying in from abroad specifically for this trip, and had purchased flight tickets to Edinburgh, accommodation in Edinburgh and pre-booked accommodation, restaurants etc, in Portree (Isle of Skye), along with the essential tour equipment which the tour operator specifically highlights. Everything had been pre-booked and pre-paid in advance as this is something the Tour Operator stressed is a must (they sent 3 identical emails during January stressing the need to pre-booking the restaurants etc.). I had decided to book my own accommodation in Portree because if you book the Tour with accommodation they charge c.£495 whereas the tour without accommodation is only £175 and the same accommodation in the centre of Portree is £128 for 2 nights, therefor saving you in the region of £200. Unfortunately, due to the Tour’s last minute cancellation, I was unable to cancel my bookings with a full refund. The booking could be cancelled literally 4 days before the trip and the company decided to cancel my tour 3 days before the trip, even though they are stated that you can make amendments only seven days prior to your trip. Which didn’t stop them from a full cancellation three days before my trip. I find their last minute cancellation to be extremely unprofessional given that they are fully aware tourists come specifically for this tour and are told to pre-book everything in advance. At the end of the day, it’s not about money for me. I was extremely excited to see the Isle of Skye which was my childhood dream. But the way the company stopped the communication via emails when they understood that their policies are wrong is unacceptable. I still have screenshots of their cancellation policies (which they have changed right after this incident without any recompensation or even adequate sincere apology or answers to my emails). This is not the way the business is done. I used to work in this field myself and I believe this company, despite the amazing reviews, is unprofessional in providing adequate communication and taking responsibility for their mistakes. Stopping answering a customer’s emails when they understood they were wrong is unacceptable for a serious management/company. With this in mind, I would strongly suggest, if you can drive or have anyone with you who can do it, rent a car and enjoy the exploration of all the hidden gems of the island. There is so much information on the internet you can find and use for free without paying nearly 200£ just for the ride on a mini bus. I sincerely hope that your experience will be much better than mine. But I feel that I have to share my story preventing people from making same mistakes. You don’t have to overpay. You don’t have to get disappointed. You can make your own experience without losing your time and your nerve cells.Show moreTrip date: February 2025

- APAnagha· April 6th, 2024I recently had the misfortune of booking a trip with Timberbush. Despite my efforts to communicate my situation, they were utterly inconsiderate and unwilling to wait for just a few more minutes. I informed them that I would arrive within 5-10 minutes, even suggesting we could cross paths en route if they paused briefly. However, their lack of empathy was astonishing, particularly during the busy Easter holiday. To exacerbate matters, despite expressing my concerns as a solo female traveler, one staff member callously advised me to make my own way to Portree. This utter disregard for customer safety and well-being is unacceptable. In desperation, I was forced to spend an exorbitant £99 on an Uber ride just to catch up with their coach at the first viewpoint. While the trip itself was satisfactory, with the driver providing excellent service, the abysmal customer support tarnished the entire experience. I've been on numerous trips in the past, but this has undoubtedly been the worst, marred by their appalling lack of consideration and responsibility.Show moreTimberbush Tours commented on this reviewDear Anagha, Thank you for your review.Trip date: March 2024
- KCKaitlyn· February 11th, 2024I had an excellent time on this trip. It was informative and entertaining; our tour guide Eoan (not sure how to spell it) gave us a good variety of historical facts and fiction, also mixing in the use of music to pass the time. Both accommodation mornings we got picked up right outside of each of our various accommodations. We were never driving for more than 1 hour straight, as there were various stops to stretch your legs and take photos along the route. It was never boring as our guide always had something to say about whatever it was we were driving past. All in all, I highly recommend this bus tour as a way to explore the Scottish Highlands, specifically the Isle of Skye.Show moreTrip date: February 2024

- ESEleonora· September 13th, 2023we had a wonderful trip with Neil as a very good storyteller and excellent driver. unfortunately the stay at Portree was less agreable. all restaurants were fully booked and a good number of people had to ultimately do with a take away pizza and eat it in their rooms. this problem was the same for lunch and/or dinner. it would be wise to inform your clients to book a table via the internet long before going to Portree.Show moreTrip date: September 2023

Asked on December 26th, 2024Do you mostly drive by things such as Eileen Donan Castle or do we get to tour it? Also we can book our own stay in Portree? We are interested in Oct
- Timberbush ToursOperator•Written December 2024
Yes, we do make a stop at Eilean Donan Castle, where you would usually be able to purchase tickets to explore the grounds (please note, the castle is closed until 1st February but we still make a stop for photo opportunities). Yes, if you wish to book your own accommodation you are more than welcome to do so! As long as it is within 2km of Somerled Square our driver guides can pick you up and drop you off at your accommodation.

Asked on October 21st, 2024I just wanted to check to see if there was a luggage limitation for this tour as a few that I've seen has a 15 kg limitation and given that I'm coming from Australia I will likely have more
- Timberbush ToursOperator•Written October 2024
There is some space at the back of the bus for storing suitcases and plenty of space inside the bus for hand luggage. Unless your suitcase is extremely large or of a very strange shape, we should be able to accommodate it during our tour. On our extended tours you are allowed to bring a medium-sized suitcase, which, in general, is considered to be between 63 and 67 centimetres in height (25 to 26 inches). As long as your luggage isn't significantly bigger than these measurements, it should be fine to use for your trip. This is necessary to ensure that luggage for all the passengers travelling on the tour can be stored safely into the hold. In addition to the medium sized suitcase, you are able to take a small piece of hand luggage onto the coach itself as a carry-on allowance. We can accommodate one medium sized (20kg) suitcase and one price of hand luggage per person on all extended tours.

You will be able to choose between options: Youth Hostel: Dorm rooms from £25 to £35 per person per night, Bed & Breakfast: From £45 to £115 per person per night, Hotel: From £75+ per person per night. We can book this for you and then you would pay on arrival at your accommodation.
