Itinerary
- Day 1
Tena to Arajuno River
You'll drive to Tena where jungle guides meet you for the start of your Amazon adventure. From there, you'll pack into inflatable boats and kayaks for roughly 2 hours paddling down the Arajuno River through rainforest until reaching base camp. After settling in and having dinner, you'll join a night walk at 8:00 PM to look for nocturnal wildlife around the campfire.

Landmarks/POIs Arajuno River - Day 2
Arajuno River Base Camp
An early 6:30 AM start gets you to the clay lick to watch colorful parrots and parakeets, then back for breakfast. At 9:00 AM you'll hike into mature forest exploring a canyon and waterfall, searching for birds, insects, and mammals. Lunch comes next with afternoon rest time, followed by a visit to a local cocoa plantation where you'll learn their process and taste handmade chocolate. The afternoon's free for a river swim if you want, dinner at 7:00 PM, and another night walk starting at 8:30 PM.

Landmarks/POIs Arajuno River - Day 3
Arajuno River to Papallacta
You have the option to head out at 6:30 AM for the parrot clay lick, returning by 7:30 AM for breakfast. After eating, you'll paddle down the river for about 2 hours taking in the last of the jungle scenery before stopping for a picnic lunch. Private transport then takes you to the Papallacta area in the Andes where you can relax with mountain views and settle into a comfortable room with a hot shower.

Papallacta to Quito
Your morning is free to relax at your own pace, take a walk, or photograph the surroundings. Check out happens by 1:00 PM when your arranged pickup returns you to Quito.
