Itinerary
- Day 1
Antananarivo to Antsirabe
A driver picks you up from your hotel and heads toward Antsirabe, taking you through mountainous terrain where you'll pass burial tombs and rice paddies along the way. The drive takes about 3 hours total. Once you arrive in Antsirabe, you'll settle into this thermal station town, which is known for its mineral water and semi-precious stones. You'll be staying overnight at Royal Palace.

Landmarks/POIs Antsirabe - Day 2
Ambositra - Fianarantsoa - Ambalavao
After breakfast, take a short tour around Antsirabe to see a corn horn and semi-precious stone manufacturer. Then you'll drive to Ambositra, which is the handicrafts capital of the region, and spend time browsing local shops there. From there, continue on to Fianarantsoa for a city tour, and later head to Ambalavao. Once in Ambalavao, visit Anja Reserve where you can spot ring-tailed lemurs in their natural setting.

Ambalavao to Ranomafana
Start by visiting the hand-made paper factory in Ambalavao to watch various stages of the production process. If you're traveling on a Wednesday, there's an option to check out the zebu market. Later, explore Anja villager's reserve to look for ring-tailed lemurs, then head to Ranomafana where you'll spend the night.

Landmarks/POIs Anja villager's reserve Ranomafana - Day 4
Ranomafana
Eat an early breakfast, then join a guided walk through the rainforest in Ranomafana National Park with a local naturalist. You'll spend roughly 4 hours searching for lemurs in this high-altitude reserve, which has the rare Golden Bamboo Lemur plus 11 other lemur species. After lunch back at your hotel, take a guided night walk to see nocturnal wildlife like the Rufous Mouse Lemur and Greater Dwarf Lemur.

Landmarks/POIs Ranomafana National Park - Day 5
Ranomafana to Antsirabe to Antananarivo
Have an early breakfast, then drive back through the highlands with rice fields and traditional Merina villages, arriving in Antsirabe by afternoon. Continue eastward toward Antananarivo, the capital, with a lunch break along the way that you'll choose with your guide. From there, transfer to the airport for your international flight.
