- AZAndi· August 29th, 2023We took the Ranomafana National Park Safari 5 Days/4Nights package offered by Across Africa Tours & Travel via TourRadar online, with the confirmed itinerary returning to Antananarivo airport on the fifth day. Unfortunately, it is simply impossible to implement this itinerary package at all - We were told by the local operator on the morning they came to pick up us that it would take at least 15 hours to cover 390km distance to come back on the fifth day! We had to cut one of the precious two nights in Ranomafana NP in order to get back to Tana airport in time for our afternoon flight as confirmed by the itinerary. That was very disappointing. However, we give 3 stars because we do appreciate that our guide and driver who worked very hard and did their best to be helpful. Our driver was excellent, driving safely and as fast as possible for long hours every day. Our guide tried very hard to overcome the obstacles when a big truck rolled and the traffic was blocked for kilometres on our way to the airport and in the end we managed to catch our flight in time. Considering the current atrocious road conditions in Madagascar, overseas travellers have to be aware of the long hours driving from A to B, in average about 30km/hr or less, and planning their trips accordingly.Show more
