Itinerary
- Day 1
Cape Town to Vanrynsdorp
You'll leave Cape Town and head north on the N7, driving through Swartland and Namaqualand. The first stop is Clanwilliam where you can walk through Ramskop Nature Garden and see the local plant life. From there, continue to Vanrynsdorp and check out the Kokkelboom Nursery, which has an interesting collection of these distinctive trees. You'll settle into your accommodation here for the next two nights, so unpack and get comfortable after the drive.

Nieuwoudtville
After breakfast, you're heading over Vanrhyns Pass through the Knersvlakte landscape toward Nieuwoudtville. This region is known for its bulb flowers, and you'll have time to see that. There's a nice waterfall to visit here, plus the Quiver Tree Forest if you want to walk around there. The day also includes stops at Matjiesfontein and Papkuilsfontein farms, where you can see how things grow in this part of the country.

West Coast National Park to Cape Town
Starting early, you'll focus on the flowers along the West Coast. Drive via Clanwilliam to Langebaan, a coastal town where you'll stop at the lagoon. Then head into West Coast National Park to see Postberg Flower Reserve, which is the main event for this day. Keep in mind it's only open for about two months each year, so the flowers and overall experience depend on timing. By late afternoon, you'll head back toward Cape Town, arriving after a full day of driving and exploring.
