- JMJan· September 13th, 2025The tour exceeded our expectations. We generally plan and execute trips on our own or with a private guide because we have seen so many ‘watered-down’ tour experiences. I don’t think we could have had a better experience with a private guide and it is not a destination that most people could do on their own. We saw more than I imagined we could and both guides Abdul and Med were extremely knowledgeable, pleasant and efficient. Abdul had actually participated in digs and new discoveries. Every experience was top-notch, including the visits to shops. I would have paid extra just for the presentations at the essential oil, papyrus and alabaster shops. All accommodations were comfortable and very clean with all the amenities. The ambiance aboard ship was warm and relaxed unlike the huge ships we’ve cruised in in the past. The food was always good with a wide variety and the service was excellent. We never felt unsafe and have nothing to complain about. Egypt is hot but the heat was not a problem. We had air conditioned transportation and the tour was designed to mitigate the heat. Based on WEB recommendations, we took 3 boxes of DEET insect wipes… and never saw a mosquito, despite being outside at various times of the day and night. Group ages varied from early twenties to late seventies and all seemed to fare well and thoroughly enjoy the tour. One girl in her early twenties was traveling solo. I will recommend this tour to friends and family.Show more

Highlights were hot air ballooning, visiting the pyramids and visiting some of the local stores. Unfortunately the start times each day let this tour down - 3, 4 and 5am starts - which make the days very long.
