- VCVilma· July 23rd, 2024The trail was excellent no one better fro the job as our attentive and knowledgeable! Our mountain tour guide the best!!! Breakfast could have been better but otherwise the meals were great!! The additional tour the Gooden Ring was greeeat a very knowledgeable and so far the best tour guide from day tour !! The South Cost with ice climbing was awful!! It combined 2 different tours in the same bus! Bus was 1 hour late and made us rush and then since there were 3 people for each tour he miscalculated the time and we had to wait in the bus for others people’s tour making us waste precious time that we could have used spending more time on location. Felt like a transfer bus not a tour!!Although the glacier hike was ok … for me it was a waste of a day!! I would have never booked this known it was just transferring 2 different groups to different points. 20 minutes per location and waiting 45 minutes on bus !!!! And 1 our for pick up!!! Really disappointed!! But other than that everything else was excellent!!!Show moreTrip date: July 2024
- Martha· August 24th, 2022excellent guide. I could really have donw with more advice on where to stay. - Satyajit· August 13th, 2022GOOD THING- natural beauty of LV trail. EXPERIENCE ( day 1 to 6)- First day they asked us to be in bus stop at 7am so we unable to do hotel breakfast and waited for 40 minutes in bus stop.2 hours after ride in bus, purchased sandwich at Hella stop. reached landmanalugar and found group of 16 with one guide Mr. Hilmar have to stay in small hut room, shoulder to shoulder with no turning place over night and instructed no privacy inside hut and food will be rationed. guide have no idea of vegetarian meal with Eggs mentioned via tour radar by us. but still had hope get some plant protein for hiking activities. reality is vegetarian meal is tomato soup/asparagus soup with bread and others provided lamp meat, bacon , salami, hot dogs. eggs provided only one day breakfast. rest of days- picnic meals. no way we can buy food near by and we were away from civilization. day2 and day 4 and 5 we ate from restaurants warm vegetarian meals spending from our packet $$. Guide doesn't know about tofu or hummus or even fruits are rationed. day 3 we cooked our own meals. If we know before trip vegetarian meals falls under special diet, definitely would bought our own food. no food and no energy and sanitation at huts very poor and have wait in line for shower, toilets. buying shower tickets in at day 3 is real struggle and gets unavailable even checking every 30 minutes. at least guide should have some shower tickets in advance for group. we seeing people from other groups eating warm breakfasts and nice dinner and we offered always cereals and cold meals. Guide by person good but he need leading and managing capabilities for 16 people. he should tell group where he is staying at night. day 4 night one of group member have medical issues, we tired calling him and never picked up phone at night. artic adventure please tell people group of 16 have to stay in closed place in huts with little room to turn and no place for luggage. day6 and 7 night big relief in stay and able to get some good meals from restrunts.Show moreArctic Adventures commented on this reviewDear Satyajit, Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review.
