Dubrovnik
Your welcome meeting happens at 6 pm, so if you land early there's time to wander through the walled Old City via the Pile Gate. Walk the walls and catch the views, then find a bar for a drink. The area's full of fresh seafood spots if you're hungry, and if swimming sounds good, head to Suluci or Banje Beach for a dip in the Adriatic.

Dubrovnik to Ulcinj
The road takes you to Kotor in Montenegro where you'll have time to explore the medieval town with its terracotta-lined streets. Climbing Kampana Tower gives you views of turquoise waters and limestone cliffs, or you can wander through the various churches instead. After that, continue on to Ulcinj on the Adriatic Coast to walk the Old Town's cobblestone streets, check out Ulcinj Castle, and possibly catch the sunset from the beach.

Ulcinj to Tirana
After breakfast you'll cross into Albania and head to Tirana. Your group leader takes you on an orientation walk to help you get oriented. Bunk'Art is where you'll spend a good part of the day—it's a history and contemporary art museum housed in a massive underground bunker from the 1970s. You descend 3000 square metres into the hillside to see exhibitions covering Albanian modern history and contemporary art. The afternoon's yours to explore the city at your own pace, maybe stopping at the Block for drinks.

Tirana
This is your free day in Tirana, so no early wake-up needed. Check out the colourful street markets and taste traditional cuisine, or take public transport 32 km to Kruja, an ancient Albanian city. By evening, meet up with your travel friends in the Blloku neighbourhood for pre-dinner drinks, then head to Tirana Castle—a Byzantine fortress turned trendy outdoor shopping area with plenty of restaurant choices for dinner.

Tirana to Himare
After breakfast, you're heading to Himare on the Riviera, a less-touristed Albanian coastal town wedged between the Ionian Sea and Ceraunian Mountains. The day's free for exploring—wander through the Old Town on the rocky hill for sea views and see Himare Castle ruins (over 3500 years old), grab coffee and cake at a local cafe, or find secluded beach coves for a swim and some quiet time.

Himare
A speedboat tour takes you out this morning to explore the coast from the water. You'll visit Pigeon's Cave, Crystal Bay, Gjipe Beach, and Pirate's Cave, one of the country's most striking caves only reachable by boat. There are stops for swimming in the caves and at beaches near Gjipe Canyon. The afternoon's open, so find a local restaurant with sea and sunset views—your leader knows the good ones.

Himare to Gjirokaster
You'll leave the Adriatic and head south to Gjirokaster, a well-preserved Ottoman town in Albania's south. A local guide takes you through one of the traditional tower houses and explains the history. Try traditional coffee roasted on the fire right in front of you—the experience sometimes includes a fortune reading. After settling in for the night, find some speca me glize (stuffed peppers) for dinner.

Gjirokaster to Corfu
Head south to Saranda, a coastal resort town near the Albania-Greece border, then take a hydrofoil ferry to Corfu, an island off Greece's northwest coast in the Ionian Sea. The island has mountainous landscapes and cultural heritage from Venetian, French, and British influences. Your group leader guides you on an orientation walk near where you're staying so you can locate the best spots. By evening, head out for sunset drinks with your group at a local restaurant.
