Itinerary

Cairo Airport to Giza
Your guide meets you at Cairo airport and drives you to your hotel in Giza, which takes about an hour. Once you're settled in, your guide gives you a quick overview of what's coming up on your Egypt tour and shares some local recommendations to help you get oriented.

Giza Pyramids, Saqqara and Memphis
After breakfast, you'll head to the Giza Plateau with your Egyptology guide to see the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mycerinus, plus the Great Sphinx and Valley Temple. From there, you'll travel to Saqqara to check out the Step Pyramid of King Djoser, built around 2630 BC. By afternoon, you'll reach Memphis, ancient Egypt's former capital, before heading back to your hotel.

Alexandria
You'll travel to Alexandria on the Mediterranean coast, about 220 km west of Cairo, after grabbing breakfast. The day includes the underground Catacombs with Greek-Roman tombs, then Pompey's Pillar with its Roman temple and Sphinx. Next is the Citadel of Qaitbay right on the sea, where you get great views. Lunch featuring local Alexandrian cuisine is optional, and afterward you'll tour the Library of Alexandria with its collection of manuscripts before returning to your hotel.

Egyptian Museum and Islamic and Coptic Cairo
After breakfast, your guide takes you through Islamic and Coptic Cairo, starting at the Salah El Din Citadel to see the Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque, Al Gowhara palace, and a Roman fortress. You'll visit the Hanging Church and St. Sergius church, then stop at the Ben Ezra Synagogue. By midday, you're at the Egyptian Museum exploring 5000 years of Egyptian art and history, including the Tutankhamun tombs. The tour wraps up around 2 PM with a transfer to Cairo airport.
