Panama City
You'll arrive in Panama City, stepping into a place where colonial history sits right alongside modern development. The city works as a major hub for commerce and trade, and you'll find natural wonders scattered throughout the area too. This first day is mostly about getting settled and getting your bearings in this vibrant spot.
- Day 2
Panama City
After breakfast, you'll head into Casco Antiguo, the UNESCO-listed colonial center of Panama City. Walking through the restored historic buildings and churches gives you a real sense of the area's past. Later in the afternoon, you'll go to the Miraflores Locks at the Panama Canal to watch ships pass through this engineering feat. Seeing the massive vessels navigate the locks is quite something.

Panama Canal Transit to Gamboa Rainforest
This morning you'll board a vessel for a partial transit of the Panama Canal. You'll pass through the Gailard Cut and Pedro Miguel Locks, dropping about 30 feet into Miraflores Lake, then another 60 feet down to the Pacific Ocean. After that, you'll head to Gamboa Rainforest Resort located within Soberania National Park, which will be your base for the next couple days.

Gamboa Rainforest
You have the day to yourself at the resort. There's plenty to do if you want to stay active, or you can relax. Try an aerial tram tour above the canopy, go fishing, do some birding, visit the sloth sanctuary, or just hang out by the pool. The spa is also available if you'd rather unwind that way. It's really up to what you're in the mood for.

Landmarks/POIs Soberania National Park - Day 5
Chagres River and Emberá Village
Early in the morning, you'll travel into the Chagres jungle by dugout canoe to visit an Emberá Indian village. Once there, you'll see traditional cultural dances and music, learn about mystical rituals and medicinal plants that have been part of their knowledge for centuries. You'll also trek through the jungle past waterfalls and keep an eye out for wildlife. The day wraps up with lunch prepared in the traditional village way.
