Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Marrakech

You'll arrive at the airport and head straight to Riad Chayma, a traditional riad right in the heart of Marrakech. After you drop off your bags and settle in, there's a walking tour through the medina later in the evening. This gives you a feel for the city's layout, the narrow winding streets, and the local rhythm before you get some rest for the trek ahead.

    Included Activities

    • Evening walking tour of Marrakech
    Landmarks/POIs
    Marrakech Medina
  2. Day 2

    Marrakech to Oukaimden to Tachddirt

The drive from Marrakech takes about 2 hours to reach Oukaimden, Africa's highest ski resort sitting at 3,200m. Once there, you'll meet your muleteer team and start your trek through the High Atlas. You'll walk through the Tizi n'ou Addi pass and pass through villages like Tizi n'Eddi, Ouanskra, and Tachddirt throughout the day. By evening, you reach Tigmi N'tachddirt Lodge where you'll spend the night.

The village itself is colorful with shops and cafes scattered around, so there's a bit of activity if you want to grab something. Morocco Mountain Guides provided an unforgettable experience doing a 3 day and 2 night trek from Imlil to the top of Toubkal and back. First day was trekking around Imlil with Hassan, who has grown up and lived in Imlil his whole life. He was warm and welcoming and spoke about the history of Imlil. First night I stayed in a beautiful guesthouse in Imlil with a terrace overlooking the whole village and delicious food and generous hospitality from Lahcen. Second day was a gentle day heading up to Refuge Toubkal via shrine at El Chamrouche followed by early night prior to the summit day. We woke up at 4:30am on the third day and ascended to summit of Toubkal in the dark with headtorches on getting there in time for sunrise. One of the most memorable experiences of my life, brought tears to my eyes. We then had great fun charging down back to Imlil. Thank you so much Lahcen, Hassan and rest of the Moroccan Mountain Guide team for an unforgettable experience. I cannot recommend this trip highly enough. I look forward to going back sometime in the future for more High Atlas trekking with Moroccan Mountain Guides

I booked a 5 day solo tour with Ridouane (my guide) and Hassan (our driver). Let me start off my saying that the tour was perfectly smooth thanks to both of them! Sadly I had a cold the whole time but Ridouane went above and beyond to adapt to my needs such as a switching hotels twice during the trip. Besides being adaptable, Ridouane is without a doubt one of the most knowledgeable guides I’ve ever hired who (I’m not joking) managed to answer every one of my questions except for one during the whole excursion! And for that one question I can’t even find info online…Hassan drove us quickly and safely across the country and was super friendly as well. I also really liked their choice of hotels! All in all guys, thanks for this trip which I will keep looking back to when I think of Morocco. Hope to see you when I’m back, this time to go north!
