Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakech to Tiziane
Start with an early drive south from Marrakech heading through Moulay Brahim Gorge and into the western High Atlas foothills. You'll reach the Imi Oughlad trailhead at 1,450m with views of Jbel Toubkal spread out ahead. After meeting your Berber muleteer crew, begin a 2-hour acclimatisation hike going up switchback tracks through cornfields and forests to Tiz n'Tachete at 2,000m. From there, hike another half hour to Imi n'Ifri where you'll have a field picnic. The day finishes with a 2.5-hour descent down to the red clay terraced village of Tiziane at 1,750m for your first night.

Tiziane to D'knt
After breakfast, head up the Assif n'Ait Oussaden valley walking through walnut groves on your way to Tizi n'Taghrhourte at 1,995m. The route continues across a rare flat section to Assaka Spring for a field picnic after roughly 2.5 hours of relatively easy walking. In the afternoon, hike down following the forest edges and eventually reach the Berber village of D'knt at 1,870m or Agouns n Assoul where you'll have dinner and spend the night.

D'knt to Tamsoult
Begin your morning with a 3-hour hike through walnut and corn groves, passing local shepherds and women carrying heavy loads of firewood and dried herbs. You'll cross Tizi n'Tagdalte and descend through juniper forests to a small spring for lunch. After that, continue down winding upper slope tracks for 3 hours until you reach a small river at the start of the Assif n'Ait Oussaden valley. Enter Tizi Oussem village at 1,850m and head up to the summer village of Tamsoult where you'll camp for the night.

Tamsoult to Marrakech
Trek out to a small waterfall at Azib Tamsoulte and then return to your starting point. Cross the Tizi n Mzik pass at 2,500m and join the main Toubkal valley at Imlil at 1,900m where you'll stop for lunch. After that, you'll drive back to Marrakech.
